Seems like they are messing with AL Haymon How? They both offered Wilder career high $$$ Both knowing he prob cant take it So now Wilder goes to PBC saying ESPN & DAZN offered me this, & AL has to match it Dazn just offerrd Tank 5 Mil for a fight vs Farmer But we know AL wont let him take It They also offered Charlo huge $ fights Are they simply doing this to mess with ALs buisness?! So now PBC has to overpay these guys...
I remember when PBC was first launched and everyone said the fighters were smart for signing because (like it or not) they were all given incredibly easy fights and paid BIGLY to do it. Now they fight once per year, twice tops! TopRank and DAZN are painting them into a corner. I wonder when these original contracts for guys like Thurman, Spence and Wilder are up?
Remember that $4 million Peter Quitlin turned down to fight Korobov and gave up his title to only get $700,000 for the Jacobs fight? How about Broner turning down that ROC Nation deal for $40 million as if he really was Floyd Mayweather Jr. junior and was gonna be some PPV success? I thought Haymon was gonna be the messiah in boxing too, I just don't know why he won't let his guys be more competitive. He won't strike lighting twice like he did with Floyd. He needs to let these guys fight to their level. His stable is slowly being exposed by B and C level contenders and gatekeepers and some others are going elsewhere.
I think he had a lot of control over boxing and boxers as he had all the match ups and a lot of power over titles. Now Hearn and Arum are stealing a lot of big name fighters it is surely only a matter of time before the PBC fighters like Gervonta Davis and Charlos realise that fighting once a year does nothing for their careers and they are not moving anywhere fast. They all want to be the next PPV star but dont see the big picture that there hasnt been a PPV star built by PBC from their existing model for years and streaming will be the future of television. I think Hearn and Arum know once 2 or 3 move and taste the money of the other side the walls will come crashing down. The bit i dont get is I thought PBC on Fox deal was supposed to be the biggest $120m budget. Wheres that FOX money now the big sums are being thrown out there.
The Fox and Showtime deal with PBC for what was speculated at $120 mill a year doesn't seem to be obviously being spent from what I can see. Sure were getting Spence/Garcia and we had Wilder/Fury but these are PPV fights and the guarantees were pretty low from what ahs been reported so it doesn't seem like much of the $120 mill is being spent. Until we see some sign of this money being spent then I have doubts about the actual figures for this deal and wonder if it was simply a PR job after the DAZN and ESPN deals were announced. But maybe it is being spent to simply keep Haymon's stable together. He has a lot of fighters and it's long been rumoured he pays his fighters in others ways on top of what is handed into the commission before fights. His fund that he used to set up PBC is likely empty and he's now using this money to keep paying his fighters extra payments and keep them happy and being forced to make more PPV fights to keep paying his fighters, which isn't a bad thing if it means his fighters actually fight better opposition.
good riddance to both haymon and arum when it happens. Im putting my faith into dazn but theres nothing shopping them doing the same thing with their fighters. Fans need to demand fights
