Are heavyweights more boring than ever?

Hopefully if the right fights are made this should be a great year for heavies.I hope Ruslan can get healthy he's a big player and still undefeated.it will be interesting to see how Vitaly does and to see who wlad will fight next.It still is possible that the K's can get all the belts.....poor ol suge will be livid if that should happen:fire

Why is it OK to use the race card on this site so much if you're white?

 

I think the HW's at the moment are the most exciting crop since the early 90's of Bowe, Lewis, Holyfield, etc. Wlad is the most exciting champ to watch since Tyson, Chagaev is a very active entertaining fighter, as is Maskaev, Povetkin, Vitali, and Peter. The American HW's at the moment seem to be on average 44years old and 8years past retirement, possibly why so many Americans are unhappy with the division right now. I can understand it in a way as i am also tired of watching Holyfield fighting for the past 30years, and I don't want to see mccall, ruiz, byrd, toney anymore either, maybe they can start up a masters division like in golf or tennis so we don't have to watch a 60yr old holyfield get decapitated by a Povetkin or Klitschko.

 

Is that feather fisted guy in your avater "exciting" to you? If so, no wonder you don't like power punching HWTs like the K bros, Peter or others. :yep

Most likely because its OK to use the race card if you're not white. It's called equal opportunity. Got a problem w/that? Btw, the race card is usually played the other way. Most "white" posters are reponding to illogical race baiting by others. I could give you examples of entire topics on this forum that are in very poor taste (re upcoming Taylor-Pavlik bout). I believe in having as much free expression as possible - especially on the net. And I'm not some "pc" kinda guy... But many posters start threads that are only for trolling. I wonder where the moderators are when jerks start some of these topics?

Anyway most aren't fooled when clowns on ESB refer to (almost only) white fighters as "robotic" or use other code phrases. There are and have been plenty of robotic black fighters (F Bruno a prime example - I liked Frank but he was as stiff as a board, even makes Vitali look like a ballerina ). Is Lamon "I'll use my face against your fist, until I catch you" Brewster or Peter smooth dancers? :roll:

You don't like the current top HWTs because they're not form the US or for the other obvious reason.

Zuras, have been generally agreeing w/you. I'm pro Lewis and K bros. Regarding LL & Wlad, I think they're very comparable. Similar size, punching power, so-so jaws (disagree w/the china chin claims - I'd like to see the small HWTs of the past get tagged from a Rahman, Sanders, or McCall shot. If those guys could do one thing it was punch big). I think a prime LL-Wlad fight would be a near toss up with a slight edge to LL. I wonder what Manny really thinks?

Not sure of your Tyson or Morrison reference above - I mean I'm not following you. But one thing I have to say - both were exciting fighters. KOs given & taken.

 

All I gotta say is that I am a Chagaev fan and I hope he comes back.

Chag VS Klit is a terrific fight, with the winner emerging as a very legitiamate champ.

Not that I know of, but it certainly sounds to me like he was diagnosed with something bad. One minute he's sighning for unification, teh next moments cancelling from a "chronic stomach ailment."

I don't think of LL as particularly exiting or boring. Just off the top of my head LL-Briggs, LL-Vitali were pretty exiting HWT bouts. Anyway, we're agreeing more than not.

 

the lennox era was exhilarating in comparison. what the hell happened? generally speaking, the better heavys seem to be able to fight well into their late 30s and still be a competitive force. did the young generation at the time just fizzle and die out? i know a good chunk of them have gone crazy ala golota, or just got fat and lazy eg tua. but, where the hell did all the rest go?
