Are IFL just a bunch of chancers?

Ok, they've done fantastically well to get the sponsorship they have got, but I genuinely can't see an ounce of professionalism from them when they do interviews. They sound more like the average fan in the street, not journalists. It's all done on the fly, no digging deep and touching on what we really need to hear at times.

Obviously what they bring to the table is great for us fans, but there's no skill from them IMHO. They are no better than that mong, Ellie, in the states.

Their interviewing skills, IMHO, have just not gotten any better. It's "alwight mate? Tough fight. Give us your thoughts" then a joke or 4.

Room for improvement is all I'm saying. Thoughts on the matter?

A shame that they appear to have spent zero money upgrading their equipment as they're not short of a few bob now. Perhaps they wear it as a badge of honour that they're the quietest channel on YouTube by some way.
However for something that's free we can't complain too much.

I thoroughly enjoy the service because they get the people I want to hear from on camera, at times I want to hear them. Their interviewing isn't deep because if it was, they wouldn't get the access they do. The style of interviewing puts the onus on the fighters/promoters to express themselves, and I like that too.

No complaints from me to be honest. There's room for improvement in everything.

    Bingo.

If they asked searching, difficult questions then promoters wouldn't let them near their fighters. They're effectively cheerleaders rather than journalists.

I'd rather them than your typical sport journalist, who are even more frightened to rock the boat, and give even more generic questions.

Thing is with IFL the people getting interviewed seem to be relaxed and they can say what they want and have a laugh with it too. None of the others for me have that effect. I still rather watch theirs than others for now.

Totally agree that their production values are a complete joke. Coogan and Eddie are from the same area so possible previous acquaintance and maybe someone Eddie could easily control for his own means. They should start to develop other revenue streams soon because ad revenue is decreasing daily.

    Same goes for Smith.

Journalism has changed. These guys get more boxing content out than any traditional media does.

Yes it's not the most professional but we need stuff like ifl.

Since when did boxing journalists ask what we want to and dig deep? Hasnt been that way for decades now.

None of them want to risk their press pass.

The coverage of the MTK shows has been a complete joke. Yes, it's better than nothing but that's the only positive thing you could say about it.
