Plus you only hear about the injury after the fight. These guys are all professional and not going to back out at the final hours due to nursing an injury. They have a whole team to pay and perhaps a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Haye has examples at both ends of the scale here. The toe against Vlad was a bad excuse but the ruptured achilles v Bellew was legit

Rigo was a bit too old and small for Loma.

Pac due to his style too already was more out of prime than Floyd Jr. Safe time to pick him up. WoW, how long talks before they fought.

You may die too. Not minutes and you even don't need to be down during fight. It is what it is and also in amateurs too **** might happen.
It is not so easy as you think.
I had noticed in forums that if there western boxers, theirs excuses does have more " level of trust " from posters.
Normal thing, combat fans are tribal and nationalistic people.

This is one of those issues you can't just assign to a convenient box and be done with it. You gotta judge the **** on a case by case basis and there ain't gonna' always be a clear, pat answer.

Unless an injury is absolutely obvious during a fight like being unable to use your left or right hand then I'm done with injury excuses, both in current boxing and in historical fights. Those excuses don't just taint the win but the entire sport, every major victory these days seems to get devalued immediately after by some kind of excuse by the losing fighter.

A win's a win and a loss is a loss, done with all the pathetic sour grapes, so Loma, Pac, Haye and all the rest take your excuses and stick em. Thanks.

Yes. If $ is more than reality you might fight Floydette or Clenbuterelo.
    Paper entertainment champions.:D

Excuse about Floydette i/v noobs:) in U.S cubicles bought easily and Floydette is HOMETOWN paper champ.
Buterelo excuses and ha ha ha, Buterelo hometown fights.
Cool champions, even far worse than Wilder.

Floyd might not to brag: he is laughable because he had years long talks about fight with Pacman. Looks most likley until he was enough OLD. :bump

Floyd is HOMETOWN fighter like CANELO.

interesting thread. should throw "cuts" into the mix since that is in fact an injury as well. how many fights have been stopped because of cuts yet the fighter wanted to keep on fighting?
many on here CROW about lennox's win over vitlay. vitaly wanted to continue even though he had an injury, a cut over the eye. vitaly wanted to fight through that injury but was not given the chance.
and for the record, i like both fighters.

    Nobody enters a fight 100%.

If you've spent over 15 years training at a high level and don't have niggling or reoccurring injuries then you haven't been training hard enough.

Loma is on his way out physically.

    Sometimes happens.
Too small for 135 lbs like Lopez had pointed before fight and this is easy to see from fight vs Linares and especially vs Campbell.
130 lbs and 126 lbs looks that are best size for him. Dude had 0 problems to make weight for 126 lbs limit.

I don't want to hear how a fighter was injured before the fight but went through with the 100$PPV anyway. I'm looking at you Manny! If you're injured before a fight either postpone it or fight with the injury and keep it to yourself.

It’s only considered an excuse because boxers fight each other so rarely. It’s not an excuse, it’s a legitimate reason and potential cause for the loss.

If fighters all fought each other 100 times, like football teams, it’ll be easy to rectify the result in the next match proving the injury was a fluke.

If Manchester Utd plays a division 3 team who they would be 99/100 and by some miracle they get 3 red cards, that’s unfortunate but they will then be playing 8 vs 11 and will lose. It doesn’t mean it’ll happen the next time or the 10 games after that.

Probably can't win either way...you either pull out of a fight n fans get pissed off with you... A la haye

Or fight with the injury and people call you a bullshitter when you lose. Or take the **** ...also haye

Or people make up some bull**** injury to justify them getting twatted..best off not saying anything really

I forgot his name but the guy Charles Martin beat to win the ibf title picked up an early knee injury before the fight had really got started.
