I’ve never witnessed anything like it. Kovalev won 15 of 19 completed rounds between both fights on my unofficial card, yet officially, he lost twice. The scorecards in the first fight were a mess, the judges scored round 10 for Ward even though Kov was turning his head into a Pez dispenser with the jab alone. 2nd fight was even more one sided, I had Kovalev up 7-1 going into the 8th when the evil scumbag Tony Weeks kept letting Ward repeatedly hit Kovalev low en route to TKO (Testicle KO) victory.

The first fight was a robbery no doubt. The second fight I think that Ward was on his way to winning but the finish was just ridiculous. I thought that Weeks was halting the action to dock a point from Ward for the low blows.

Ward should’ve been disqualified for low blows. He couldn’t beat him with boxing skills so had to resort to flagrant cheating.

I think that Ward should've been deducted a point and Kovalev given 5mins to recover and if he persisted with low blows after that then yes DQ

Not the worst robberies at all but bad ones. First fight was a bad robbery. No way Ward won.

I'm voting no simply because the poll was an all or nothing related to MOST egregious. I didn't think it was an egregious robbery but even if I did it was not as egregious as Jimmy Ellis over Floyd Patterson in 1968 or Tim Bradley over Manny Pacquiao in 2012.

A lot of this can be blamed on Kathy Duva, who is corrupt as hell and despite having the champion fighter and Ward not even being a big draw, managed to sell out Kovalev and put him as a handicapped B-side with both fights. I'm pretty sure she also organised Snake Jackson for trainer duties too. But she acts like some kind of mother figure around Kovalev. This level of fakery makes Hearn seem genuine.

Let's not forget she was also one of the vultures who helped strip Fury a few weeks after the Wlad fight.

This Kovalev situation was a good example of how it's better to have a little less profit but fairer conditions for the fighter so they have the best chance of keeping their champion status. These losses actually ruined Kovalev because he basically became completely jaded afterwards and his performances suffered for it. Imagine if the first Ward fight had been on more neutral ground and Kovalev had won?

This is the same refree; Tony Weeks. In both cases, he saw nothing, and he looked where he should.

Good example how u can end someone u cant beat in sport way with other tricks. That was massive, treaky cheat plan.
Pretty similar situation like in GGG vs Alvarez but there they acted slower and in a more thoughtful way first give draw to lull people's vigilance and not arouse such opposition

Not really. The reason Kov was in the position he was in, was the straight right that Ward landed. Low blows, to that point, had no effect at all and did not help Ward land that right hand. Now, once Kov was beat back into the ropes, low blows played a big part in the victory. I feel, regardless of the low blows, that Weeks should have done an count since it can be argued that the ropes were holding Kov up. The correct response from Weeks should have been giving Kov 5 minutes to recover and deducting a point from Ward. I changed my position on this since the Usyk/Dubois fight. I really got a better understanding of a low blow. I cannot, in good conscious, argue that Usyk got hit low and Kovalev did not.
