No not even close I thought Kovalev won the 1st fight, but it was definitely competitive and Ward won alot of the rounds in the 2nd half of the fight to make it debatable.

The 2nd fight I thought Ward was breaking Kovalev down with actual legit body shots, and would've gone on to stop Kovalev anyway without the controversial ending.

As for the ending Tony Weeks prior to the fight did say shots on the belt line were "good" and alot Ward's shots did land on the belt line thus making it legal in referee's eyes. Although a few may of strayed low I still think Ward was on his way to winning the fight regardless.

Both were robberies in different ways. The second was bizarre. I can't remember seeing something like that too often. The strange thing is Kovalev wasn't even given a count, after all of the low blows, he was just waved off. It was clearly an act of corruption.

See, it doesn't matter what you think would've happened. That's not how sport or life works.

Kovalev was showing signs of being distressed by as early as the 5th or 6th round by legit body shots. It was quite apparent Ward was breaking him down and Kovalev was badly hurt by a right hand that led to the controversial stoppage.

Yes 1 or 2 may of strayed a bit low at the end but to me it was quite apparent Ward was on top by that point in the fight and would've gone on to win regardless.

That right hand Ward landed in the second fight was a thing of beauty. I remember jumping out of my seat.

Ward bullied the bully and made him quit and people are still mad years later.

Ward did some dirty work but I always say just foul back and never, ever expect the ref to save you

Not even close. Kov could have maybe won the first fight 7-5 but Ward got those 2 rounds instead. Second fight Kov had hs trunks up to his bottom rib. Ward odviously thought Kov was trying to hide his weakness and Ward did not let up

I think I scored the first fight 114-113 once, but I had to kinda want to score it for Ward, which says something about all the judges.

Does any modern Black fighter get any love on this forum?

I'm white myself, but it appears if you are a Black American you get judged much more harshly

GGG gets so much love on here, yet he spent 90% of his career in a cap division fighting road sweepers, while Ward fought good guys and made the journey up to fight the Dangerous Kovalev

    Some truth to this.

I personally don't hate Ward but I'm not a fan either. Holier than thou personality and kind of boring. But very strong mentally and an ATG.

But Kov was robbed. I also maintain that GGG ducked Ward and would have been schooled by him.
