Are left hook specialists a perfect matchup for Pacquiao?

Pardon me if I'm boycotting all the steroid talks...

Barrera - known for the left hook
Oscar - admittedly past his prime. Still, many people predicted one simple left hook would've put Manny to sleep.
Hatton - not really sure about his left hook, but I'm sure he doesn't use his right hand that much.
Cotto - another orthodox fighter who relies on his left hand (mainly left hook to the body).

For guys who have overhand or straight rights, it seems that Manny has trouble with them (Morales and Marquez).

What I'm trying to say is that fighters with the orthodox stance that use their left hook rather than straight right are tailor-made opponents for Manny.

Hmmmm, marquez is a left hooker/right hand guy. I think he gave Manny the most trouble of anyone.
It's more a problem for any south paw to take on someone with a quick lead right.

Yeah, but in the Pac fight he was throwing lead right all day.

I get what you are saying. If your left hook is your big weapon, Pac isn't the guy you want to fight.

But I thought we went over this a while back?

Pacquiao has an agresive style of boxing. agresive boxers do best against other agresive boxers rather than slick and spedy boxers or counterpunchers who pick their spots to fight. Often a boxer who is a left hook or right hook if he is a southpaw is an agresive boxer him self. Because Pacquiao is usualy faster he has the advantage.

What are you talikng about. Pac only juiced up in his last 3 fights, he does not get credit for his previous fights.

I don't think it has anything to do with the fighters signature punch being a left hook. Manny has had such success with these fighters, while troubled by Marquez and Morales ( first fight ) because of ring generalship. To be more specific, I believe any fighter who can effectively control the distance between Manny and themselves will beat him. The fighters you listed have more engaging styles

Whats funny is Morales and Mayweather throw the same lead right. Watch the first fight, Morales was in the same stance Mayweather gets in when he knows the guy cant avoid his right

Morales is an excellent boxer.. I was just watching some of his older fights online. Sometimes its easy to forget that when his ferocious wars with Barrera are still vivid in my memory

Morales has got to be in the top 15 of ATG's.
Some of his wars are so amazing, they make you think he is just a boxing machine in there.
And his technical skills were through the roof.

Morales in his prime = near perfection for prize fighting.

    ...No.

I think the TS is basically on the right track. The fighters who have given Pacquiao the most trouble possess a great right hand. Marquez and Morales. Cotto's best shot was his left, Barrera was primarily left handed, but Oscar was just shot to pieces. A right hand will get the job done against Pacquiao, and I can't think of a faster and more accurate one than the one possessed by Floyd Mayweather Jr?
