No either Pirog or Macklin pulled out I think. Macklin wanted Pavlik last I heard.

It's a fight I'd love to see, but Mick and Allegedly couldn't agree on the colour of grass nevermind a fight between 2 of their stars

I doubt this will happen now, Macklin has a fight with Pavlik in his sights and neither he nor his promoters are going to take any risks

No, Macklins headed for America under Freddie Roach's tutelage, and wants to steal Andy lee/John duddy's fanbase and positioning as Irish American fans number one.

    Barkers missed out.

Macklin is more popular in Ireland than Duddy - really Irish people know that there is more to being Irish than accent and location of birth. Both being merely superficial.

Now, make to Barker - why would Macklin want to fight this British hype job?

Because it would be a good entertaining fight between two guys who are on a similar level. Macklin wins for me and best of luck to him but unless he gets a genuine eliminator or a crack at a world title there are few ready available fights better than Barker vs Macklin.

I lived in ireland all my life and mate macklin is not as well known or loved as duddy. Macklin is a nice english gent who fights in a exciting way that i and most of ireland enjoy watching but he chooses to live in the uk and hang out with the hattons in his free time, you just dont get more english than that.
