Of course he does. Very very very few fighters that I can think of dont do that to some extent once they win a belt. Its different before you get a world title, once you get one or reach the top, its hard to think of fighters that dont handpick their opponents to some extent. The only ones I can think of that didnt was Williams, Vargas, Mayorga, Trinidad, I know there are many others but those are the ones off the top of my head. Maybe one could throw Hoya in there, he pretty much fought everyone, and unlike many of todays cash cows, fought these guys in their prime (Mosley, Ike, Trinidad) Mosley was another one who didnt handpick his opponents too much from what I remember. Todays fighters almost all of them handpick their opponents to a larger degree, imo. Though there are def some fighters today that havent, mainly the super six fighters and the lower weight guys (Mares, Agbeko, ect) so they are out there, but the top top names, I think they are usually pretty carefully managed. For a reason too, I hate to say it but as soon as a guy loses all you hear is about is how he was exposed, never was any good, blah blah blah.... its no wonder fighters mentality towards choosing fights and keeping their 0 has changed some.
this thread is brilliant. another thread where *****s r exposed as idiots. their boy hand picks his opponents
Tried waiting it out in hopes of the age affecting Juan's ability to win for the 3rd fight. Plus the whole I'm really a light welter or lightweight business yet fighting Juan in the welterweight range after he was previously dominated there instead of light welter It all backfired terribly for manny though. If you're AZZking about fighting Juan NOW, then I don't have too much to say about it. I only think they should have rematched him immediately after the 3rd fight instead of squeezing in a Timmeh one.
Who did he avoid then? If Cotto, Margo, Hoya, Hatton, Clottey , Bradley, Marquez are handpicks who should he have fought instead? Give a list and try to keep a straight face.
