Are Many Haye Fans Underestimating Wlad??

Well when Haye had him hurt and knocked down twice in the first round but flailed fruitlessly rather than picking his shots against a Ruiz that was clearly there for the taking.

 

how many fighters who are the main event on ppv when given the chance take their opponent out in the 1st round.......

value for money ring any bells....

Oh dont be silly! Do you really think Haye was thinking ill just lay of here give him a chance to take me to the later rounds where my stamina is suspect and give him half a chance when i could take him out right here right now.

 

so with his suspect stamina it wouldnt make sense to go later into the fight to build it up atsch

I don't think it's logical to 'expect' Haye to win. The way I see it, he has a punchers chance, although a good chance.

I think Wlad will start off the fight like he always does. Controling in on the outside and tattooing Haye's face with the jabs and straights. The fight will be entertaining in the early rounds but not exciting. I think in the middle rounds, Wlad will relax and get caught, either rocking him or knocking him down. Haye will get wreckless and aggressive and not do much else in the round. Wlad will then recover, and regain his composure and cautious approach and take it to the UD.

 

Haye will use feints and footwork etc to try and get Klitschko to make the first move, that first move being either a jab or an attempt to clinch - anything that leaves him slightly open. If Wlad tries to clinch Haye will step back and unload, and if Wlad tries to throw shots he'll step to side or get underneath him and throw one of his free-style haymakers.

Wlad will give him the chance to do this, give him time to use feints and be subtle and then BANG! Vitali wouldn't afford him such a luxury.

Obviously Haye will have to be at the top of his game to pull this off because if he's a fraction off he'll get clobbered without getting off himself. However I think he will be.

Basically you could argue I'm underestimating Wlad's activity and aggressiveness and think Haye will get more time to think than he actually will. That's a possibility with my reading of the fight.

I think Haye fans will underestimate Klitschko, but I don't think Haye will himself. He knows this is a difficult fight, and he knows it's gonna be even harder when he gets in the ring and 30 seconds into the first round he still can't even get close to landing a punch on Wlad. From there, he'll stay out of range and paw away whilst running a half marathon every time Wlad moves his right hand.

 

I find that neither side is particularly rational in regards to their fighter. Wlad fans make out like he's some offensive machine, and that no one can get inside with him. Neither of those things are true. Plenty of stories in sparring of guys getting low, moving their heads and working the body of Wlad.

But equally, the idea that Haye is some lighting fast offensive monster is utter pish too. He explodes when his opponents are hurt, but he prefers to fire a lead right, left hook combination then step off or jab and drop the right hand then step off. At HW he's been a lot more cautious and pretty methodical.

Both are chinny, but Haye's shown more willingness to shoot back under fire, thinking he'll land before his opponent does. Wlad has a lot of heart, even though his nervous system doesn't support him when he's hurt.

Haye and Wlad have significant weaknesses. Wlad's decent handspeed and solid technique will give him plenty of opportunities to land on Haye. But his caution and refusal to open up until he's softened the opponent up may give Haye some real chances early.

Also, what's this nonsense about Wlad tagging Haye as he goes inside? Wlad backs off when opponents step in. He's doesn't have the mentality now to run that risk. he might jab, but he rarely uses the uppercut until he has a near-static target in front of him.

This fight has all the hallmarks of a stinker, I'm sad to say.

Many people aren't quite understanding how difficult that actually is.

Wlad is heavy favourite for this. The bookmakers odds are not representative of the reality imo.
