I think Mexicans like a certain fighting style. They like the "dont take a step back" all out action fights. They seem to call general boxing and good footwork running. Of course it would look like that when majority of the fighters they like fight more flat footed with less lateral movement. But hey, this is boxing.

I think only a few are haters...like Uliuli. Freddy to a point is, but he gives Cotto his props. Most Mexicans enjoy the rivalry, but will recognize a good boxer regardless if they're Rican.

Unless they are fighting mexicans I have quite often rooted for Mexican fighters.

I even wanted Cotto to win against Margarito. So there

Some mexican fans here are really digusting ignorant moronic posters whose too obvious hatred of pac resonates with their posts! Just take a look at the posts of maestro and you would know what i mean!

maestro is not a mexican. it would be a disgrace for mexicans to adapt him because he thinks that guzman would beat juan marquez.

Actually, I do root for Puerto Rican fighters. As a matter of fact, out of all the great PR fighters, I think Tito Trinidad is the greatest. I was actually rooting for him to punish and KO DLH (I can't stand DLH, but that is for another thread, not this one). I was also rooting for Tito against Joppy and Hopkins. I admire the courage and heart Tito showed in his fight against Hopkins, even if he came up short in that fight. The ONLY two things I don't like about Tito is his habit of retiring after every loss and the controversy surrounding his handwraps. The retiring I could live with, but if the rumors concerning his handwraps is true then that is something that could not be forgiven, IMO.

I actually like Cotto. He looks like a down-to-earth type of fighter, and is all business in the ring.

Calderon? Sorry, I just don't like his "style" of boxing. It's not just him, it's fighters who box not to win, but box not to lose, so to speak.

I haven't seen enough of Juan Manuel Lopez to given an honest assessment.
