I've probably been a fan of more Latins, from wherever, most of all, particularly in the 70's, but right up until today, with Cotto being one of my three favorite fighters, the other one being the Pacman, and Barrera.

The unrealistic, fanatical attachment of the British to Hatton is the straw that breaks the camel's back as far as I'm concerned. What a bunch of fools. Talk about an overrated fighter.

I respect you attidude, mate, but I dont agree with you.
I stem from a tiny country, and of course I would almost always support a compatriot against a foreigner.Well, there may be some exceptions of course.
Anyway! I for my part like boxing, like certain fighters irrespective of their passport, religion,or race, but like every human being I stick to certain values and hold my family,my country,my blood above else.Thats why I feverishly support my compatriots, but that doesnt mean that I cant see their flaws and honour their opponents or conquitadores.Blind nationnalism is not healthy, but neither is blind liberalism.

I'm biased towards most Aussie fighters even if i try my best not to be, patriotism comes out.:deal

Also seem to be a bit biased towards most of the best Top Rank fighters dunno why but most are from Top Rank.

I was and am a huge fan of Lewis. I'd pick him against any heavy.

I can't argue with any of that. Moderation in all things I guess.

I always rooted for Monzon and Barrera, and as I've pointed out, I'm neither Argentine or Mexican. Despite the pride these nations have for their heroes, if a fan from the U.S. or Britain does the same, it's looked upon as a bad thing, and criticised as blind nationalism.

it is only natural to support a fellow countryman like me with calzaghe for instance .and you do tend to defend them.but i also like other fighters from outside the uk such as kessler and not just because he is european, and i like pacman and pavlik too.
i am also supportive of up and coming fighters such as duddy although i dont think he is as good as pavlik or abraham.you just like some fighters styles.
i dont like boring fighters such as hopkins and was not looking forward to calz v hop.
every person will have there own opinions and may pick and chose when to support a fighter or when not to.

Unless you were adopted, you are also Mexican. If your parents were born in Mexico, you are Mexican. My parents were born in Caguas, P.R., yes where Cotto is from. I was born in cough, cough, New Jersey. I am Puerto Rican. I just don't understand. I asked a guy once in the police academy in GA if he was Mexican due to how he spoke and he told me no and that he is tejano due to being from Texas??? I run into alot of people from Mexico that give me these answers. Either your Mexican or you are not.

    It's not that simple.

For example, should 2nd or 3rd generation Italians born in the US think of themselves as Italian, American or Italian/American, etc.:think
