I am merely a young American mostly of Irish decent and Cherokee Indian, trying to provide for my young son and pregnant wife...

I don't have a bias for American fighters, or don't think less of European posters, or any other posters for that matter. I am simply a fan of the sport and a fan of many non American fighters.

Why you have to judge me based on where I was born, shows your intellect I guess.

I am neither a fan nor a hater of either one, but I believe both should be in the Hall.

That was a good win, but what would Roy have done to Roch? It would have been EASY for Roy. :good

Rocchi's high, tight guard and timing of straight punches would've caused Jones no end of problems. Roy's leaping left hook from out of range (which he entirely replaced his jab with!) is no longer a potent weapon, as the key to it's effectiveness was the angle it came from - opponents couldn't see it coming; Rocchi can't see ANY punches coming anyway because his hands are in the way! He's the rariety who doesn't have to move his hands away from his face to throw a punch - he had some kind of freaky arm/shoulder strength to let straight counters go right from the guard position, and Jones was no Eubank when it comes to slipping shots; Eubank used subtle head slips relying on timing, Jones pulled back relying on speed.

Remember, the shortest distance between two points is a straight line - and Jones preferred looping overhand rights, hooks, uppercuts etc: Rocchi threw straight, to-the-point and accurately. Also, remember, timing beats speed. And, Jones isn't budging the giant-like German, who was huge for a super-middleweight. There's also the southpaw stance - Jones struggled with that stance a few times.

I think Rocchi would've done good with him but ultimately be outworked.

I respect your opinion, but I don't think you give Roy enough credit. Roy was another level to these guys.

Roy would have lost all his fights without the peds

Based on what exactly? Desperately struggling with Hopkins (20% of the fighter he later became), McCallum (20% of the fighter he earlier was), Griffin, Harding and Tarver, and struggling to land on Toney and Thornton, and struggling to open up Malinga? Roy's pure power and strength and brawling style got him out of technical difficulties many times. He wasn't 'on another level' to every other fighter. Maybe the speed of his natural reflexes were. Michael Nunn was even more talented, would've beaten Jones over 12 rounds 99 times out of 100.

Eubank would be borderline but I don't think Benn is.

The guy he fought was PED'd up twice as much. Why didn't Jones lose to him then?

That's not really a very good argument...
Think of all the fighters he beat that didn't take peds
