Are Pacquiao's accomplishments @ 147 really "that much" better than pbf's?

    at the time... honestly

floyd manny cotto were definitely above clottey
    maybe berto
    margarito had been decapitated
    and
paul wililams couldn't compete at the weight any more..

so he was prolly like 4th ranked

You counting DLH? 4 if you count Oscar. PAC MAN faced 3 legit WW's in a fraction of the time that Floyd has campianed at the weight. So to me that's the most telling element in this thread.

    When Pac fought Clottey

Floyd hadn't fought a WW since Judah in 2006
Mosley had been inactive for 14 months
Cotto just got destroyed by Pacquiao
    Margarito was fighting at 154
    Williams was fighting at 154

Clottey was inactive for 9 months coming off a loss by a hair against Cotto.
Berto was inactive for 10 months coming off a lackluster decision over Urango and a controversial win over Collazo.

    Clottey was easily top 5.

You could make a case that since Mayweather hadn't fought a WW since 2006, that Mosley was inactive for 14 months, and that Cotto just got destroyed, that Clottey was the 2nd ranked WW behind Pac. But personally I'd put him at #4 behind Mayweather and Mosley.

When Pac fought Clottey, Shane was already inactive for 14 months. Alot of people drop fighters off their rankings after 12 months of inactivity.

Floyd hadn't fought a WW since Judah 2006, that's also true. Oscar was a jrMW, Hatton a jrWW, Marquez a LW.

Cotto just got destroyed, after a very close slightly controversial win over Clottey. Its normal that Cotto would drop a little down the rankings after Pac knocked him out.

Berto was coming off a decision over Urango (Alexander sparked Urango 1 week before Pac vs Clottey) and a controversial win against Collazo.

I think I'm being too rational, and that's what's pissing you off.

no you aren't you are being an idiot

    floyd's main weight is 147
shane is better than clottey and main weight is/was 147
cotto regardless of his performance against pac was still better than clottey... which is evident in his win against clottey
    pacquiao is pacquiao

so whatever **** you trying to kick is not flying bro

Did you intentionally left out Juan Manuel Marquez?

That fight was at 146, a weight even heavier than the Pac-Cotto fight.

Mayweather has been a welterweight for 5 years, yet he never fought any of the top dogs like Cotto, Margarito, or even Williams when they were on winning streak and campaigning at that division.

Floyd's are better imo. Pac's best win @ 147 is clottey.

Before the Mosley fight i would say yes. Otherwise no.
Mosley was the man at WW. All those people that PAc beat other than Clottey were known to be washed up.

His fight with Shane pretty much out did PAC's fights with DLH, Cotto and Josh. But only by a slight margin.

:huhCotto wasn't washed up, DLH wasn't washed up.....After the fight when everyone lost a grip betting against PAC all the sudden to make themselves feel better said DLH was shot. But Cotto beat Josh right before he got domianted by PAC.

    Floyd:
Mitchell - This was for testing the waters at 147, so it's not relevant.
Judah - Someone known for ****ing up in big fights.
    Baldomir - Not relevant.
    Hatton - Not relevant.
    Marquez - Not relevant.
Mosley - Was the man at WW when Floyd beat him.

    Emmanuel -
    ODLH - Not relevant.
Cotto - Was ****ed over by marg, and came off a bad win against Clottey.
Clottey - Someone known for ****ing up in big fights.

We're comparing Mosley and Judah to Cotto and Clottey. Cotto wasn't on fire, but Mosley was. Both Judah and Clottey were coming off of losses. Clottey beat Judah H2H, but Judah accomplished moar in his boxing career than Clottey.

Slight edge to Floyd. Neither guy has a 147 resume that will help them in fantasy H2H match ups. There's not much to brag about.

Neither has great accomplishments at WW, but Floyd has a slight edge because of a longer stint. But if you take away each fighter's accomplishments at WW, Floyd's legacy would be hurt more.
