Are some people really calling for Paulie vs Floyd? It would be a one sided massacre. Khan is levels above Paulie as a fighter.
The combination of Khan's being a walking potato and looking vulnerable against lesser names most recently makes people all but forget that he's had some really excellent performances and is a damned accomplished fighter with some very good scalps. It's unfortunate. But Paulie's also taking on a second wind type career that's really nice. :conf I think Khan did match up with Paulie pretty perfectly though. Paulie does have an immense amount of durability and general ring IQ over him though, despite that. I couldn't care less who Floyd fights. He doesn't owe anybody anything. I don't buy PPV's anyway. What does it bother me? He's fought nothing but championship names for, what, eight years? This would be just another.
Khan is shattered glass. Look at his fight with Julio Diaz, he was significantly slower, significantly vulnerable in his defense and had a worse glass jaw than previously thought. Glasshn needs to get in line, he'll never get a Floyd fight because his chin is much too weak.
As much as I dislike a Mayweather-Khan match up it is still better than a Mayweather-Malignaggi match. There's a lot of good fights for Malignaggi-Thurman, Porter, Garcia etc but not a Mayweather fight.
what i dont get is. theres a billion threads (all be they were created by 4chan troll alts) about floyd and his "feather fists" yet amir khans only weakness seems to be his chin?... i dont like the khan fight personally.. i just feel khan should havedone something to earn it... BUT id rather see khan because he has a style that could trouble floyd (at the very least he poses a problem for mayweather we have not seen him deal with since judah - speed)
In that case I guess Rigo didn't destroy Donaire? Mayweather didn't destroy Canelo? You don't need to kill someone to completely take them to school.
Mayweather certainly didn't "destroy" Canelo - he beat him clean and convincingly but "destroy" implies some kind of beatdown and that just didn't happen. An example would be Froch "destroying" Bute in their fight - that would be an adequate use of the Word.
Mayweather-Malignaggi would be a horrible matchup. Mayweather-Khan is better, and even that one is a mismatch.
Under Roach, Khan utillised his assets which is his speed and offence, but now that he has gotten KO'd by Garcia, it looks like his defense has stayed around the same (he will still get caught) but his offense has suffered because he is thinking too much in there instead of just doing what he did well. For him, to an extent, attack was the best defense and because he is never going to turn into a good defensive fighter at this stage, trying to be one is actually counter-productive. I think the move to Hunter hasn't actually worked and Khan is facing the fact that he may be past prime at 26. 2010-2011 Khan would have had a great chance to beat Bradley.
