Hopkins is no doubt an ATG.

Great performance last night, he is a freak of nature you shouldn't be able to perform like that at 43!

Hopkins is undoubtly an ATG but how anyone can use this to discredit Joe Calzaghe I don't know.

Calzaghe beat him and last night proves that Hopkins wasn't as "shot" as has been claimed.

I thought he was before the Pavlik fight.

If Calzaghe beats Jones then I could see justification for it in Cardiff and it would sell out IMO but I wouldn't expect an exciting fight unless Hopkins decided to think "**** it" and go on the attack like he did last night.

A lot now depends on the result and the performance against Jones.

    I think thats fair.

It beggars belief Pavlik could not win one single round against a 43 year old, even if he is a phenom. If you can find a way to put any pressure on him there are a few rounds in the bag down the stretch.

That's why I think it will happen, I expect Calzaghe to stop Jones in the mid-rounds after a domination job.

The only guy who could derail it is Dawson, but I don't think he brings the same cash to the table, plus with Bernard and Joe, it's personal!

Exactly. You think he would've been able to edge at least a couple on workrate/activity/volume of punches at least. I still think Pavlik is a class middleweight, I still think he can rule that division for a long time if he can keep making 160. He simply didn't have the experience or the nous to cope with Hopkins's skills and toughness. This defeat will do him good, he's strong enough mentally to avoid being another Hamed.

I already considered him an ATG even before this fight, glad to see everyone else agree with that now.

About the P4P rankings I wouldn't rate him above Joe, this is where I place Hopkins now.

    #1 Manny Pacquiao
    #2 Joe Calzaghe
    #3 Bernard Hopkins
    #4 Juan Manuel Marquez

I thought B'Hop was ATG before the fight TBH, however I'm ready to admit that I thought he was in decline (even though I thought he might beat Pavlik via a close UD) - But as usual B'Hop proves his doubters wrong by rolling back the Years.

*If Calzaghe gets past RJJ I would love to see B'Hop v Calzaghe 2 @ the Millenium Stadium.

agreed. i give joe credit for the win over hopkin. you wont see me discrediting it even if you go back to my past post history. but please, this a celebration of hopkins acievement. please leave all the calzaghe discussions in a thread specifically created for it.

what an absolute dismantling it was. oldman river completely negated pavlik's trademark punch output. i had it 11 rounds to 0 with 1 round even. if hopkins did'nt get duducted a point, it would have been a shutout. loved how he went for the kill in the 12th too. a master class. antwun echols put up more of a fight.
