I've seen a few of his fights, and I've seen him train.. he's a fast cat. He's got awesome speed:good
world class chin? I dunno about that..rivera dropped him hard and estrada wobbled him a few times with solid left hooks but he hid it well.
i think at this point in his career people are about spot on about him. With only 20 fights he can still improve, but whats for sure is that he definately needs to. I don't think he'll ever become atg but he can definately win a belt at some point.
a fighter gets decked and all of a sudden he's chinny. atsch berto was straight back up in the rivera fight. berto would thrash someone like cintron or judah.
the kid is exciting and works well under pressure. The fight with Estrada was a grest showcase of his counterpunching skills. A fight with Paul Williams would be a all out war.
If Berto's chin is like Rahman's he's in BIG trouble. :yep But to answer your question more directly, he hasn't progressed as far as Williams at this point. The chin remains a serious question mark, for the reasons others have indicated. Berto certainly looks like he has the goods to win a title and be a force in the division, but we'll really have to see how his whiskers stand up to higher quality opposition before we can tell for sure.
Me, too. I think Zakman has an alarm that rings everytime someone mentions Rahman on this board. On the subject at hand, I think Berto has potential but still has some improving to do. He's one of my favorite prospects, along with guys like Mean Joe Green and James Kirkland.
williams is deserving of some of the praise he gets on here for beating margarito. berto needs to show his substance against a ranked guy.
