Are people serious with it being a bad stoppage?

Are you having a ****ing laugh? After Taylor last punch (a weak instinctive jab) Pavlik threw 13 unanswered punches. He landed a devastating cross, left uppercut, right uppercut and left hook. Taylor was pinned in the corner and literally getting beaten down until he was left slumped on the floor.

    The stoppage was fine.

Hah, they aren't serious. After every big fight, there's always guys who have to try and negate the victory.
Since Pavlik's win was so definitive, the only excuse that can be made in Taylor's defense is that the fight was stopped too soon. A bull**** excuse, mind you.

taylor should have gone down after the first couple of punches.....he would have had time to recouperate and could have fought on, but by staying on his feet he ended up giving the ref no choice

Yeah and he pretty much gave himself no choice either cause by the time he hit the canvas he was beaten beyond recovery.

Its funny cause kelly almost did the samething in the second. He stayed up too long and then got up way too quick and was lucky to make it out of the round.

it was a good stoppage to keep him safe.....but i still think he should of given the "champ" a chance to get the count to see how he got up.....i still think it would of ended quickly after though

Exactly, when Pavlik was getting tagged in Rd. 2 I was yelling for him to take a knee before he got battered senseless, I thought it was too late after those last three he took from JT, couldn't believe he made it out of the round, he is a seriously tough **** Pavlik is. JT also fought a brave fight, I give him a lot of credit as well. It was a great match.

I think most people understand that Taylor was not getting up. However since he was already down, why waive off the fight right then and there? Give Taylor a chance to beat the count. Odds are he won't and gets counted out. If Taylor beat the count and gets up on spaghetti legs, the fight would be waived off. Maybe there s a 5% chance he gets up and makes it out of the round.

My beef is Taylor did not have a chance to beat the count. Fighters who are not in need of immediate medical attention should get a chance to beat the count….especially in a close title match.

Props to Pavlik for a great effort.

Taylor didn't ***** one bit about the stoppage. That in itself is enough for me.

If Taylor did suck and was a fraud, then he never would have hurt a tough middleweight like Pavlik like he did in round 2.

He may not have been the best fighter last night, but he looked pretty good at times. But, it's all for not as Kelly sealed the deal in round 7!

Taylor didn't have a chance to beat the count because he didn't go down until after Smogewr stopped the fight. As for as Smoger was concerned, Taylor was stuck in the corner taking a bad beating.
