The more I read people's opinions about weight, the dumber I'm beginning to think people are. Cotto weighed in at 146lbs against Clottey -that's only one pound more than he would need to weigh in at to fight Pac, and two pounds less if he needs to make 144lbs. Do you really think this will be a factor? He will have plenty of time to rehydrate as usual, and he will weigh his usual 155-157lbs on fight night ---THE NIGHT THAT THEY FIGHT YOU MORONS!! It's not like he is being asked to make 140lbs again. The better man will win, and it will not have ****-all to do with weight.

It is you that is dumb.

It is not simply 2 lbs. It's 2 lbs on top of the 20 or so lbs he already has to lose. Everybody has a ceiling where its difficult to drop anymore weight.

I believe that the Manny camp is attempting to implement a stipulation that will restrict Cotto from rehydrating heavier than 153 lbs on fight night!!!

The point is that even at 147 pac should be the favorite, he has so many advantages over cotto: speed, footwork, quickness, stamina, etc. and the only advantage i might give to cotto is the weight now pac is trying to take that away from him? Adding that cottos styles is made for pacman(straight forward fighter with not very good defense), what kind of p4p #1 does this? **** cotto wouldnt even be the favorite at 147 and now he wants him at 145?

Then they are on very dodgy ground, I doubt the local commission would want to allow it. Imagine the problems if something happened to Cotto in that fight that could be attributed to dehydration?

Some people are ****ing ******ed. When you have to start loosing weight from your core frame of muscle then it gets ****ing hard. Sure, most fat and water can come off but cutting into your lean frame is a whole different business.

I sincerely hope that is not true. I will lose ALL RESPECT for Roach if that is true. Fluid is needed to cushion the brain and other organs from impact.

**** ROACH if that is true. **** him.

if you ever have cut weight for a fight, you would know, 1 lb can be hell. it means: no food a day before weigh in; no water a day before weigh in; and if you are in trouble, chewing gum and spitting, riding an exercise bike in a dry sauna, wearing a sauna suit and running on a treadmill and god help you if it takes laxatives and diuretics. it is not only hard to put back the water, it's the energy cost taking off the weight but not getting replenished. the effect is low blood sugar, and, the fuel stored in muscle tissue(atp and creatine phosphate) being depleted. this means less explosion for less time in the fast twitch muscles. so my friend, it's not as simple as you think.

You're an idiot. Are you even a pro boxer? If not then stfu cause you don't know what the hell you talk about. Losing 2 or 3 pounds might not be a big deal to you but it will for Cotto. Cotto hasn't fought 2 pounds below 147 pounds 3 or 4 years. When he signed on for a fight, he has to lose 12 or 13 pounds to get to 147 pounds cause he put on alot of pounds when he doesn't have a fight schedule. You talk like Cotto even when he doesn't have a fight schedule weighs only around 148? Lol come on man please think.

Bad example, there is no reason for Pac to go back down to 135, there is no big fights there for him. If there was, I am pretty sure he can and he will go to 135 if Floyd, Cotto, Mosley and such are in that weight class. Among all of them, Pac has been the one most willing to jump around in weights to make fights happen.

For Pac to drop down a weight class is easier than it is for Cotto though, so it won't be fair to expect the same. 145 is a good weight for both, as they both are handicapped just right and none should be significantly out of place as they both are confident of making that weight in good health. 143 would probably be too much, but I think 145 is the most likely agreement between them atm.

Does this mean you are a pro boxer then? Or should you stfu as well?
