Are punchers like Julian Jackson and GGG using different technique?

I doubt it, if there was a technique that could make you punch as hard as GGG or Jackson everyone would be doing it.

 

Genetics, technique and intent. Guys like JJ rely almost exclusively on their punching power. They have the guns to blow away any body, and they go out there with the belief that its only a matter of time before they land and win.

GGG has the conditioning and genetics to hit extremely hard but he's not intending to go out there and blowing people away with raw power. The times he did try (eg Brook) he didn't look that great before he won. Golovkin's intent is generally to control the game, to pressure his opponent and either force him into making mistakes or baiting him into making mistakes. At which point he will uncork the perfect punch to start the end.

Jackson to my mind has much more power than Golovkin because that's all he did and all he intended to do.

Golovkin is the much greater boxer because that's his game.

As to a H2H, I'd pick GGG every time.

If raw power alone was enough then JJ would be the guy with the most MW defences in history.

 

They might lose if he caught them before they caught him...he's more like Nigel Benn as he has that natural explosive power but not necessarily a good technical boxer, just like Benn, who when under pressure can bring it out of the bag....Just as Jackson did when he was being schooled for the whole of his fight against Herol Graham then graham made a mistake & the hawk did not ! But if GGG caught him 1st its goodnight to the SPARROWhawk....squeak squeak...

Possibly...but as Holyfield said to Tyson before their fight " Evreyone knows that Mike can hit harder than me & thats Ok , but I can take it...can mike take mine "...GGG has a chin , JJ taking GGG bombs does not...facts...The guy that sits in between is McClellan...McClellan Vs GGG would be a really 50-50 fight...i reckon if anyone could test that GGG chin McClellan is the one!

G isn't a ko artist hits hard yea but once he stepped up in comp his streek stopped

 

Don't think GGG has a technique which makes him punch hard but he does throw some of his straight shots and hooks with a high elbow so they come downwards and over the guard. I suspect this helps him land punches more cleanly and that might be his secret...

 

Natural punchers. GGG the better boxer and overall fighter due to his ability to take a punch and absorb punishment.

 

Probably different factors at play depending on the build of the guy in question. Hamed for example had 1 punch KO power at 9st and that came from his legs which were pretty much as thick as his torso.

 

The drop step. GGG uses some of Demspey's style in the footwork. He uses the shifting to place himself is the right position. It's no magic secret though. Lots of fighters do it.
I think a lot of GGG's power comes from his timing and punch placement. He's really good at finding the holes and putting his fist through them.

 

Both obviously heavy handed but both had different ways of being effective as punchers. Golovkin as mentioned by others had great timing and accuracy. He hit you hard and he hit you often and he punched through the target.

Jackson was really good at setting up his finishing blows, he'd frame and collar tie opponents manipulating them into positions so he could land his power shots. He threw the right hand with an arcing motion to go over a lead hand or around a guard rather than a normal straight right that would be more easily blocked. His left hook to wasn't your traditional left hook he could create an angle on it to pierce your guard, it would start off looking like a normal left hook but halfway through the motion could be driven with a more straight like angle right between and opponents gloves to find the chin. Basically it was very hard to defend against his punches if you were in range.
