Are the amateurs to blame for rookies not knowing when to take a knee?

I might be well of base here, so please correct me.

Im relatively new to boxing, say a life long casual, but 5 years serious.

Over the past few years I've seen countless rookies get tagged early on in their career, and not have a ****ing clue how to deal with it.*

Is this inexperience, training, mentality, fear, all of the above?

Or perhaps is it something more rooted in the armature game. *I read about fighters have 100s of armature bouts & through all of them, they seem to be incredibly protected be referee's...

I'm not saying its a bad thing, but these standing 8 counts after taking one good shot can't be such a good thing.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks

i remember when Gamboa turned pro, same with Lara i believe, on their first fights they will step back after hurting an opponent expecting the ref will stop for a count, and losing the momentum for a quick KO.
They fixed that right away, to the point that they will follow throwing punches to an extreme, like Gamboa did against salido in rd 12.
