Danny Garcia, who I think, on a technical level is weak as f*ck, is an undisputed champ. Tyson Fury, who is probably the next big thing at HW is terrible. Ricky Burns is not exactly Ali, either.

Is the time of the tough slugger upon us?

Not at all. Mexicans are becoming better boxers overall. They no longer just take 2 to give you 1. Floyd has influenced a whole generation of urban kids to use the Shoulder roll. And I believe Danny Garcia is unifed not undisputed.

    Fighters are becoming more skilled.

Garcia is a skilled fighter, but he does lack elite handspeed and reflexes; however, he makes up for it with elite timing and power.

You're right about Danny Garcia, but he will get beaten by a top level technical boxer 4 out of 5 times, you'll see.

Tough sluggers have always been around.. at least until a matador comes along and tames the title off them.

Just because you can shoulder roll, doesn't make you a skilled fighter.

It takes a lot of skill to use the Shoulder roll at the world class level. Ask Berto.

There will always be a technician who will carve himself out from the crop.

    Not for long.

Fury will never be the next big thing. He's the next big, lumbering, wide-open punching bag for the guys that will make it to the top.

Ward, Donaire, Gamboa, Canelo. All fundamentally sound fighters.

No they're not. The quality of Mexican fighters today is absolute trash compared to eras past. Aside from Marquez, none of these guys stack up historically well at all.
