Are the Klitschko's the most avoided boxers today?

LOL. If I were a heavyweight and Wlad offered me 70/30 and a shot at the title, you know what? I'd take it. And then I would whup his ass, get on the covers of newspapers everywhere, get a spot on Dancing with the Stars, date a celebrity, and say to any camera in my face, "If he or his brother wants the title back, that'll be 50/50, please".

So you would take a fight and only get 30% then you would offer the challenger who at this point wouldn't have a piece of the heavyweight crown (although Vitali would so 50/50 for him ok) a 50/50 deal that's just bad business. There's not one boxer who is capable of making any kind of payday on thier own who would do that. You would be being a slave to K2 promotions without them trying to force it on you.

Wlad sold out his first stadium purely cos Haye's name was on the tickets. Since then his 'Stadiums' just keep getting smaller and the ticket prices are the lowest in history. Also, GATE RECIEPTS ARE ONLY A SMALL % OF THE INCOME OF A BIG FIGHT! Stop quoting something that should be a little bomus as being something of massive value.

The Klits NEED good opponents to make real money. They make **** all on their own. Wlad would only have made 3-4mn Euro fighting Povetkin FFS. He's a ****ing BUM CHAMP!

The Klits are not most avoided in any sense. Two men refusing to fight Wlad for very specific reasons means **** all. Get real ****s.

I voted not avoided at all because it's the closest to what I think.

I think they are partially avoided by some of the top 10 fighters but not more avoided than some of the names that have already been mentioned like Caballero.

I think they are avoided probably partly for boxing skill reasons that are tied in with commercial reasons.

as has been pointed out K2 fights aren't exactly setting records for PPV sales etc and I think they also have contracts which say they have to fight in Germany.

So if you are a top 10 fighter and under the age of say 34 you know that they will be getting pretty slow pretty quickly over the next two years. Why fight them now - in Germany - when the pay isn't great and there is the chance you can lose.

If you lose you are back with the bums and have to regain your place at the top for when they retire.

So I probably voted wrong and think they are avoided but as a combination of fear of losing/commercial reasons/don't want to miss out in a few years.

Basic risk/reward stuff really...
Risk of losing outweighs the payday of the fight and the reward of the belt when they can just wait a year or two picking off bums.

I agree but it was Haye's and his shitty manager's mistake to ask for 50/50 in the first place. Then they got that offered and suddenly changed their mind and said it's not good enough for them.

They should have never called out the Klits in the first place and cry out loud for 50/50 when everybody in the world knew there's no PPV in Germany. It's not like this was a recent development or revelation. It's been like that for the past 50 years. Just Haye and Booth had no clue and this entire episode exposed them as naive and amateurish clowns.

This is true. Calling out for 50-50 was stupid but who knows if they knew what they know now. If they knew Wlad was still tied into his **** RTL deal, had no way of getting a PPV and were contractually forced to fight in Germany then Booth and Haye are clowns for ever saying 50-50.
