Hernandez-Poorpramook I was my personal pick for FOTY in 2011. Marquez-Concepcion I was a close second.

This year, Viloria-Marquez is a very strong candidate, and I would say Ioka-Yaegashi, Mthlane-Nunez, and Marquez-Mepranum II are also in the discussion. Sosa-Uecab was also a lot of fun in its own right. All of these fights took place at super-bantamweight or below...

Not sure if this is a joke thread but 122-130 are the most entertaining and competitive divisions at the moment...and will be for the next year or 2. We'll also see some tremendous fights at 168 in the near future but I don't believe that qualifies as a "lower" weight class.

Umm I don't think you've seen Wlad or Vitaly KO guys then. But let's put this in reality. Who would win in a fight between a real man like Wlad and little boy like Donaire? Donaire would pee in his pants and go chicken adobo in the ring. Pacquiao the same.

I prefer the lower weight classes much more action, better fights, much better technique and more excitement

well, to the mainstream, pretty much yes. but wait.. today, people on the streets will have trouble naming heavyweights, you may get the answer klitschko, but more likely holyfield or even tyson.
so bantam to super middle are really the relevant divisions.
to the best-minded of boxing, and/or arrogant, you will seem like a ten year old or a dick

I measure the devotion of a fan to the sport by their knowledge of the lower weight divisions. the lower weightclasses are absolutely stacked with warriors.

Don't get me wrong. Featherweight-Welterweight are some of my favorite weight classes.

Not completely irrelevant, because they are sports and the people competing are athletes.

But the amoun t of competitors is very limited.

Below 110 pounds only latinos, asians and some african pygme tribesmen basically compete.

So the bigger (lets say bigger than 120-130 pounds) has a broad base to competitors - like soccer or another big sport.

The smaller divisions are comparable to curling og grass hockey or some similar very small sport.
