I’m going to Ricky’s come back fight and plan on getting so pissed I can barely remember the result the next morning. I’ll be singing “there’s only one Ricky Hatton” loud and ****ing proud.

Does that make me a deluded “Ricktard” or somebody who enjoys getting pissed, watching boxing and football match type atmospheres.

Don't be mad because your favourite boxer couldn't fill his own back garden, whereas Ricky sells out the MEN in 48 hours after spending the last 3 years sniffing coke and getting fat AND with no opponent announced!

I feel people like the man, because they can relate as a person. He was nothing special in the ring, and anybody who thinks so, is deluded.

When Hatton and Witter were in their prime, I'm not saying Witter would have won, but it would have taught Ricky a lesson or two against a fighter of that awkward style. But that fight never happened and they both went different ways. But Ricky then went onto fight awkward fighters at elite level and was left found wanting. If he'd learned a different way before that, he may have stood a chance at the level. But he went in there same old same old and got brutally found out in devastating worrying fashion.

If it's OK for the Ricktards, Hattonites, whatever you want to call them, to provide their blind opinion on the man in the ring, then it's perfectly fine to air an alternative opinion.

I'll admit, I was taken in by the talk and the hype building up to Mayweather Hatton. And I thought Ricky stood a chance, oh was I wrong.

Ricky Hatton's alright, but the circle that surrounds him, consist of some of the most blind boxing fans in boxing history. Who'd be better suited at a football match or at an Oasis concert.

    Ricky "Hitme" Hatton.

    So what!

I'm not doubting the fanbase, never have, I'm just saying 99.9% of them are blind zombie nutthuggers unfortunately.

Audley Harrison sold out arenas all around, no matter what people said of him, he always drew people in because of the talk, people were brainwashed nearly every fight thinking he'll finally do it. It never made him a good fighter because he sold out arenas though did it?

I'm sure Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao's biggest achievement is selling out arenas? :patsch

Or is it winning world titles and defending them time and time again?

Comparing Floyd Mayweather and Ricky Hatton is ****ing stupid. I never, ever though Hatton would beat Floyd or Manny. That doesn't mean I can't support him.

I didn't think Liverpool would beat AC Milan but I still went, true fans support through thick and thin.

Maybe I should only support boxers who win and defend World Titles multiple times.

Not at all, you can support who you want and nobody can change that. :smooch

But you can't deny what I and others have said regarding his fanbase, yes its absolutely nuts and no other English fighter has quite had what Ricky has, following him over to Vegas and what not.

But my god, some of them are so blind, it's laughable. Most of them would be better suited at a football match, because thats how it gets treated. They turn up sloshed, sing the songs loud and proud, then go home and not remember any of it.

Before the fight they honestly think he'll smash em, during the fight they get a reality check, then after the fight they still think he can do it at the top. :scaredas:

What happened to Ricky Hatton against Manny Pacquiao, I wish on nobody, there were serious concerns over his safety, and after the fight he started showing signs of being punch drunk, the speech was going, his personal life started to take a dive, with the drugs and what not. I'm not meaning to be harsh on Ricky, he's a top lad and many people go through the same things in life.

But if you honestly think (and yes there are people out there) that Ricky is gonna come back after 3 years out (not just any 3 years out either, a TOUGH 3 years out) and be the fighter he was, if not better, just because Ricky is talking it up. Then you will be left upset again. Ricky couldn't do it in his prime, he's not going to do it now. If Ricky cherry picks the right few fights, then he should be alright, but if he starts getting confident, it could end up being full circle again and back to square one. If people thought it was bad after he retired the first time, what's it gonna be like if the same happens again?

I'm just looking out for the fighter thats all, I don't want to see anyone that low, and I don't want his fans to loose him, like so many before. Depression is a very serious thing and Ricky should be commended for getting himself out of it the first time. Congratulations to Ricky, he has got himself back in shape, but I really don't want to see him lying in the ring again, out cold, with serious worry's over his safety.

People have been killed in the ring before now, I don't want to see it again. Ricky already had the warning signs and it should be enough to show him the light. I just hope fighters can see them and learn when its time to stop. To many go on past their sell by date, and it effects them for the rest of their life, sadly.

Put it down Rick. You don't need it and the sport doesn't need you anymore.

As pathetic as some Hattons fans may be, his 'haters' are equally as pathetic.

I remember sitting in my house, dad's mate mentions the Pacquiao fight to me and i said ''Pacquiao will win, Hatton's not on his level''.

He goes into one ''Pacquiao's rubbish, lets face it De La Hoya was past it, Morales and Barrera are little guys with no power. All Pacquiao has got is speed. Hatton's fought better fighters like Tyszu. He won't handle Hatton's strength''. I said ''We will see, but Morales and Barrera are better fighters then anyone he's faced. Pacquaio will win...''.

Oh the embarrassment a few weeks later, he didn't want to see my face :rofl. I'm not to rub it in but when someone gets angry and talks utterbollocks i've gots to get stuck in.

    Are they?

    Or do they just care?

Because his fans clearly don't give a f*ck if he gets laid out again, just as long as they get a night out, a **** up and a sing song.

His fans want the good old times, but this is boxing, and this is a fighter thats been out for three years. I sincerely hope he comes back and doesn't get hurt, thats what they sign up for, there is always that risk. But coming back when you've had your day, for whatever reason, and then getting hurt, having ignored the warnings the first time around. Hurts even more.

I hope Ricky and his fans are right, I really do. I really hope he comes back, has a few fights, and retires for good unscathed. But these "haters" live in the real world MATE and we've seen time and time again, fighters that come back, that really shouldn't have, then wish they hadn't when their sat at home and can't move without help.

I'd rather Ricky still have his livelihood, than comeback for his sick fans, who really don't give a f*ck.
