I'd be cautious about having Usyk at number three personally. If he loses to Parker that just won't be the case. But a very, very good case could be made for Usyk at three if he retired tomorrow.

This exact thread was raised for every incumbent heavyweight king since 2007 and none of them ended up making it definitively their own for whatever reason. Best to wait.

And during these 3 decades he didn't manage to beat more Top 10 guys than Usyk during his 6 years campaign.

Usyk fought in a weak HW (albeit entertaining) era

There is no such thing as a "weak era". It's a fallacy used by old heads, who like to bring the current fighters down. All of the eras except for 70's were called "weak". Even the 90's were called a "weak era" while they were happening, lol. And since Foreman was fighting for 3 decades, he participated weak eras too (that's how he won the title at 45), and still couldn't manage to beat more Top 10 guys than Usyk in 6 years.

Eye test you could say that.

Larry Holmes deserves a shot, make it a top 4 of those and I have no argument.

Louis and Holmes are behind Ali, but ahead of Lewis and Usyk. Lewis currently has a stronger case for top 5 than Usyk does (and this is coming from Usyk's number one fan)

    That's not true though.

    Foreman beat

    Peralta
    Chuvalo
    Frazier x2
    Norton
    Moorer
    Roman
    Lyle

Usyk has beaten 3 fighters ranked in the top 10 with a total of 5 wins Dubois wasn't ranked in the top 10 in their 1st fight.

Foreman has beaten 7 opponents in the top 10 with a total of 8 wins.

He's certainly not top 3 & possibly not top 10. Wladimir Klitschko is ahead of him. He took care of mandatories against Southern Hemisphere opposition which is more than what Usyk appears capable of. You don't become a top 3 H/W all-time by only beating Brits.

I don't see the argument for Usyk over Tyson TBH.

Tyson had 12 world title wins compared to 6 for Usyk.

Not to mention Tyson has a much more vast resume.

    Larry Holmes
    Michael Spinks
    Frank Bruno x2
    Razor Ruddock x2
    Trevor Berbick
    Bonecrusher Smith
    Tony Tucker
    Tony Tubbs
    Tyrell Biggs
    Carl Williams
    Pinklon Thomas

We have to say Usyk's undefeated, for one. Then you have to remember that even though Tyson has many more world title wins the quality of Usyk's 6 wins are better than Tyson's top 6, all together, in my opinion. You have to remember Holmes' age. So Usyk deeper top 6, maybe tyson slightly deeper top 10 and deeper top 15.

After relooking at this though, I'll probably switch Tyson to #8 and Usyk to #9. Honestly, I am considering kicking Marciano out and putting Tyson and Usyk below Walcott. Wins over Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles x2, Maxim, Bivins and Ray. That's a better resume than Tyson, even, by far, in my opinion. Not very dominant ever though

Chuvalo wasn't ranked at the time he fought George. I forgot Peralta and Roman. So it's actually 7 to 5 Top 10 wins for Foreman. And it's still not a good look for George as he was fighting at heavyweight for 18 years and Usyk did that in 6.
