are their people that think AJ won either fight against Usyk?

Joshua provided opposition. Fury actually had Usyk in trouble.

Nobody believes Joshua won either fight.
Rewatching the first fight, I think Joshua performed well between round 5 and 8.
He finely adapted his boxing but unfortunately his stamina let him down after the 9th round.

During the second fight, he had better moments of dominance, but once again, Usyk took over from the 10th round onwards.

    Absolutely...

I've said before, too, that it's some of the best we've seen from him.

Sadly, I think there's just too much ego there to fight like that all the time - and it's a shame.

If AJ fought that style against Dubois, he'd have either got a UD win or stopped him on accumulation/quit, maybe late KO...

But he has too much ego and wants to be popular - and with heavyweights, aggression and KO's make you much more popular than being an excellent points fighter... So he wants to be aggressive and it just isn't his best style as he's aged, IMHO.

Sure, he's got mega power and that Ngannou punch was at least as hard as anything I've seen Wilder throw, blasting out a far better chin at that...
But he could've been a more effective fighter into his later years if he'd kept things tighter, IMHO.

He kind of did. He said he thought that he was looking like Ali in there, and similar comments.

He wasn't. He won max 5 out of the first 7 rounds (most realistically 4), while having very good 5 and 6, and that's it.

According to the punchstats Chisora did land more punches on Usyk than Joshua did in his 2 fights vs Usyk so you're not wrong.

Chisora is also less skilled than Fury, Joshua, which goes to show sometimes just using sheer will/aggression and using your size advantage can give you a shot at winning despite the huge gulf in class.

Both Fury, Joshua, fought too cautiously for me well Fury atleast in the 2nd fight anyway. And the reason for that is because they haven't quite the chin to take those big risks.

Where as Chisora can be beat up round after round and still keep plugging forward.

I'm also of the opinion had AJ fought triple knee with the exact same respect and game plan as he did Usyk, then he would definitely have fared better.

You hit the high note, I think, with the ego thing being a big factor re AJ's demolition loss against Dubois.

A natural born fighter just knows. It's instinct.

Maybe AJ relies on too many outside factors and opinions.

These were his best efforts, imo. He tried to fight smart and take advantage of his attributes such as they are. These fights were his peak prime. Usyk is just tougher, more disciplined and (most importantly imo) smarter.

Consensus is 8-4 Uysk in both fights with some people giving AJ one more or less than that
