I know most f his big fights were broadcasted on radio, but has anyone listened to any of these? I wonder if they're available somewhere.
On YouTube you can find round seven of the radio broadcast of his second bout with Tunney. I vacationed in Chicago a few years go. Great city. I drove past Soldiers field and tried to imagine the throng that came to see that fight that night. The tremendous roar from that crowd when Dempsey floored the champion in round seven. Must have been deafening. Then the realization that everyone, every single one of over 100,000 people who attended that fight that night in 1927 are now long dead. Sobering thought..
