troy browning - baby faced garcia

garcia was 20 years of age, been having a fantastic espn streak, wins over lower tier but solid pros like aguilla and grover wiley. has skills workrate and athleticism. while also power and almost everything. plus being 6'1 nearing 6'2.
browning on the other hand is 5'8, 152 lbs, 40 year old ex welter prospect, having his first pro fight in 1991, even though unbeaten he hasn't fought anybody of any caliber. BIG difference though being that browning has a cruciat ligament injury in 1998 after falling down a man hole, and retires and becomes a garbage collector. after a 8 years of time off he comes in the ring for a year on and off to get a bit of money and to use his unbeaten record. he gets hired to fight garcia.

outboxes garcia. garcia becomes dorsile and cant land anything while browning backs him up at times and keeps snapping a left cross. garcia keeps waiting and waiting and waiting....then the fights end

The idea that Duran was not fast is ludicrous. Sure, Leonard was quick with his shoeshine pitty pay ****, but Duran could sit down on a punch and was very, very quick in doing it, and in his footwork. The problem is the neophytes who only examine his work 1980 and beyond, basically from 30 years old and beyond...

No one said Duran was slow though. He was slower than Leonard however, even when not throwing "pitty-pat" punches.

In neither case was the older man shorter though, but Moore-Johnson is a good call as Moore liked to crouch and thus made himself shorter while Johnson used his jab to stay away.

An ancient Archie Moore was also able to spoil Pastrano's boxing but the judges only granted him a majority draw.

Duran-Moore (not sure Duran was slower)
Whitaker-Delahoya/Hurtado (if you think he beat DLH)

Yes, it is. But next time think a second before you post, so you don't answer points that weren't made.

I get a feeling you could use a good crap just as much as Duran did in New Orleans. In no way was my post meant as a slight on him, quite the opposite.

Are there any examples where an older, slower, and shorter boxer earned a decision with no knockdowns over a younger, faster, and taller boxer when both fighters were in the top 10?

I would think they would be rare.

Read it again McVey. Johnson to me was faster than Willard and he did not earn a decision.

Montiel was the WBO titleholder at 115 when he lost to "Too Sharp" Johnson. I think Mark may have knocked Fernando down, though.
