Hearns came out at the opening bell throwing right hand bombs. Nothing like what Monzon would do, who most fights doesn't even commit to hard right until he's got you on the ropes.

Yes I understand that part of it .. Point is for me, Hagler gets thru because he's not going to win this fight on the outside.. I think we disagree here because this is a very close fight for me, you apparently not .. all good

Given that only one of the Fab Four was a career middleweight, you'd figure that any middle who could beat the prime version of Hagler would beat Leonard, Hearns and Duran as well. Maybe Greb (I don't feel remotely qualified to judge that though), Robinson, Monzon and Roy Jones.

I guess Hopkin is a possibility if you think he could beat Hagler. I don't think he would have though.

    Laughable.

Marvin never faced anyone with the physical attributes that Roy had.

In one off best for best fights i'd give SRR, Hopkins, Monzon and RJJ a chance. I'm very confident Hopkins would beat Duran, Leonard and Hearns and imo he would sneak past Hagler as well. Strangely enough i think Jones biggest danger might be Hearns stylistically. Monzon boils down to whether he would beat Hagler.

Smokies might be Burley, Steele, Williams and Marshall.

Kalambay .unusual choice I know but I think he has a good chance on a given night.baring a fluke like the Nunn fight all four have a tough night.

Roy had the power of Hearns and the slickness of Leonard. He gives Hagler fits.

I agree. But people talk about Nunn like he is a scrub, and that it was sheer luck.
