are there any questions about the chin of PW?

I think Martinez' power is a bit deceptive. He's fast and awkward which makes his punches hard to see coming.

He hit Cintron so hard that Cintron argued that the punch was from a headbutt.

if im not mistaken the shot that dropped pw was on his temple. any man can go down being hit there (by a hard puncher or not). all the chin shots i pretty much saw pw take them very well.

A great welterweight chin, a very good middleweight chin, but not great at 160. If he gave Pavlik the room to load up, I really wonder if he could take it.

He simply wouldn't be able to stand up to Kelly's sledgehammer rights.

at 147 & 154 it's solid but not Iron like most fans of his claim.

And his superfans who think he can dominate mw's and smw's he'd get his jaw detached.

I'v honestly seen ppl talk about him vs Bute, Abraham and other SMW's talking like h'd decimate them. If Bute or Abraham landed clean he'd be near dead.

I always though Pavlik beats him (healthy) and just as much if not more so now.

Man to be honest one of Paul Williams BIGGEST flaws is that he often either stands too tall in distance to get hit by shots he does not see or throws a uppercut at too far of a distance and just gets timed perfectly.

TO BE HONEST he was taking some clean HARD SHOTS and part of it was due to his problem he has. The guy gets hit with shots he doesn't see coming. There was only like 3 shots throughout the fight that really got his attention. The one in the first round (although that was a combination of being hurt and hit off balance by that punch), that one round where he throw that uppercut and got countered by the hook, and the 8th round. These were all shots where he didn't even see the **** coming.

    I'm surprised he took those.

I am not sure PW has a great chin. Martinez might not have a great punch. Just looking at PW and his stretched out frame, guys like that never take punches well. If Paul were hit clean by someone like Hagler he would have been stopped early.

Hey V good points man. I honestly DO NOT see PW at SMW. There is NO WAY ABSOLUTELY NONE PW last the distance against ANY of the SMW's right now. And the reason I say this is because I don't remember SMW being filled with such hard hitters. Even supposed light fisted Ward was surprising with his power. I think if he can make his mark at JMW, very possible . Clottey, Martinez rematch, Dzindzurik, cintron Angulo foreman good matchups in my opinion.

I can see that now. I guess it's his heart that I'm so impressed with, not so much his chin but how he recovers quickly and keeps coming forward.

Ya, I think PW walked into alot of good shots that would have sent many a man down for the count. He's got great heart

He gets hit too often and doesn't have the power. His willingness to take punches and come forward might get him into serious trouble one day. His recovery time is remarkable.

He has not fought a guy like Hagler or Hearns who would test his chin immediately after he was hurt. Martinez punches ok, but he is not a big puncher. If he was Paul would have been stopped last night. I think Paul Williams will look better in his next fight. He fought sloppy and carelessly last night. He has an 82 inch reach. He should use it.

Ask Cintron if Martinez is not a hard puncher. You're a ******ed poster.

i have a question: how the **** did he stay on his feet through that? he must have some kind of extra cushioning between his brain and his skull, because if any normal human were to have his head snapped around like that that many times he would be out for days.
