Are there any rumors/stories of recognized iron-chinned fighters KD'd in sparring?

Hassan Shabazz, was alleged to have knocked George Foreman down in sparring in 1989, according to Boxing News.

I don't actually attach much importance to Champion Corbett flooring and making groggy a young and fairly green Jeffries, but Corbett's tale, told by others ,appears to have corroborating witnesses.I just put it out there as it and other stories were requested. If anyone wants to beleive that ,the then champion of the world needed 3 men to hold down a green sparring partner whilst he exacted vengeance, that is their prerogative.

Whenever I hear a fighter claim that he has never been knocked down or hurt, even in sparring, I just automatically assume that he is not being truthful.

Mac Foster and Ray Patterson knocked Liston!
Buster Mathis knocked Chuvalo in exhibition I think!
    Pahe knocked Tyson!
    And the list goes on!

people always think of the "one big punch" sparring knock down. I have a fighter that I've never seen hurt badly by a single "punch" but recently I took him to spar with an ex-Olympian who is undefeated as a pro. My guy took individual punches well, but when the other guy threw 10-15 punch combinations with less power, he made my guy "drunk" and had him staggering. The other kid fought at 3 different paces, one, he threw almost constant punches with little weight transfer, two, he threw slightly less punches with a little more weight transfer, and three, he "set down" on his punches and transferred his weight. The second speed is where we had the most problem. Fortunately, the other guy is an excellent boxer and person who doesn't need to feed his ego by hurting people while sparring.

I don't think McCall has ever claimed that he was never hurt while sparring. As you know people spar when they don't feel like it, when they aren't motivated, whenever...everybody gets hurt from time to time.

Of course any human can be hurt-especially fighting the biggest, hardest punchers.
But McCall seems unique in that over a long career-as an amatuer, 73 fights as a pro, 436 rounds until he was ancient, & in 100's of rounds against Tyson, & fighting modern sized HWs & SWHs...
    He was never even down.
Even Chuvalo likely deserved one kd ruled a slip, & the guys he fought were smaller overall...

Also "The Atomic Bull" represented his style-no elusive dance master.
Even when having a break down in the ring against Lewis he never looked close to going down.
It would take an Atomic Bomb to drop the Atomic Bull.
Even years of drug problems could not cause him to ever be knocked off his feet.

Active from 1985-2014 (brief drug forays interrupted his career)...& then one-offs in 2018 & 2019, McCall likely has the most freakish chin ever.

Corbett knocking down Jeffries is one of the least likely KDs I can think of. Maybe it's true, but if so it has to be the biggest fluke in boxing history.

Liston was indeed known for having an iron chin.
