Boxers now have less strength in their legs because they indulge in sex too close to fighting.

Not a boxing skill or move as such but just wanted to ask when did it change for boxers in between rounds to gulp down mouthfuls of water? I’m sure that it used to be that boxers were told to take some water and just use it to rinse out their mouths and then spit it out into the spit bucket because apparently if they drank the water, it would cause them to throw up if they were then punched to the stomach once the fighting resumed. When did this all change because nowadays you see every boxer drinking water In between rounds?

Yes. that's always the first name to spring to mind when I think of hooking off the jab but I was talking about jabbing off the hook

Throwing a hook and then turning it into a jab by straightening your arm out like a jab at the end of the hook

American boxing has seen a decline in actual punching. So many American fighters are taught to quickly pull back their punch so that they don't get countered. Caleb Plant is a good example. Eastern European fighters like Kovalev and Beterbiev are taught to punch through their opponent. And then the Americans wonder why they can't crack an egg.

I wonder what caused the change in inside fighting ability. It seems like something that is not allowed by modern referees in the pros and amateurs.
I remember referees pulling fighters hands down or away when in the clinch so that they wouldn´t just hold, but instead fight. These days a clinch is an immediate break to the action by the referee.
