Styles make fights. I have always thought the best style for Mayweather Jr. was Pac as he shoots from odd angles and does not tire. Mayweather has his defence and a great straight right hand which evens out Pac's speed and footwork advantage. So, the fight would be amazing. I think Marquez can get a good game plan going and if it is good enough can possibly win. But the reason I said "little Marquez" earlier is not because of his size. If you remember (i just watched the same fight two nights ago) there were times Pac moved Marquez's whole body backward by at least a foot with a single jab. The power difference is obvious. Mayweather too will overpower Marquez. This is why the fight does not mean as much to me as Mayweather/Pacquaio. Nor does Hatton/Pac mean as much either. The two #1 fighters should have faced off. It was definately "the time".

If Pacquiao beats Hatton, Floyd will fight Pacquiao in the fall. Fighting a great technical boxer in Marquez, will allow Floyd to guage how much he is still worth after a 2 year layoff then immediately jumping into a fight with a more energetic fighter in Pacquiao.

I'm struggling to figure out how in the hell you find the time to post when you can't seem to let go of Floyd's nuts all day long:huh

I would hope Floyd would fight Pacman if Pacman wins, but you never know. He might do it since he will hope Pacman is not as strong. If Pacman struggles with Hatton, then Floyd will fight him.

So Eubank and Benn wernt the best? sorry but they are the two of the best british fighters of all time and had a strong rivalry that ended in a draw. Pacquiao is an iffy at the mo, Morales to be honest is great but not as great as eubank/benn and barrera? yeah my answer to that is Amir Khan ( altho i admit barrera got jewed he was still being outsped and would have lost anyways unless he landed a bomb on khan )

Lest we forget, that De La Hoya in his prime was a hell of a fighter.

In p4p terms, Holyfield and Hopkins deserve to be above Floyd (though Evander's peak was just over 20 years ago so I suppose that rules him out of this particular discussion), purely because Floyd's resume does not come close to matching his talent. If Pacquiao beats Hatton, I'd place Pac above him too. Pac doesn't have the same skills, but after tonight he will have a stronger resume and better achievements (extraordinary ATG weight-jumping) which will compensate for the gap in skillset.

Wins over borderline HOF Corrales, borderline HOF Castillo (who beat PBF the 1st time), Hatton at welter, big fight loser Judah and past-prime Oscar in a 39-fight career?

Sorry, but that's just not all-time great material. Pity, as he had so much talent and skill.

Floyd is not on the same level as Jones, and he is not in the same stratosphere as Whitaker.

Dinamita, Did you think Floyd won the first fight with Castillio?

I watched it today and had JLC winning by two rounds.

I have just extended that post since you quoted it mate. Check it for my answer on PBF-JLC I. Pretty sure I had Castillo by the same margin as you.
