Hows rigo high risk no reward? Im pretty sure whoever beats him will skyrocket up the p4p rankings and get a ton of publicity.

Well people generally mean $$$ when they are talking reward and there is very little of if in fighting Rigo.

The publicity you speak of could become future earning potential. Problem is Rigo isn't even a big name outside hardcore boxing enthusiasts, cash comes from getting a name casuals recognise. Plus you actually have to beat him first which is not simple matter!

So a fight you have little chance of winning for not much cash is very high risk low reward for say Frampton who can earn much more fighting Quigg in the UK in a fight he will probably win.

Andyw is right about Rigo, for the likes of Cruz, Frampton, Quigg, they are in a catch 22 situation, fight rigo first only hard core fans will tune in and risk of losing. Fight each other except rigo, get more recognition but then still have to fight rigo to claim best in division. Either way all roads lead to rigo in SB division!

Kovalev isn't that avoided. Only superpimp is avoiding him. Thurman and Beterbiev aren't even being avoided by anyone. Rigondeaux has a solid case for being almost as avoided as GGG. I think Klitschko is more avoided than Kovalev, Thurman, or Beterbiev. Klitschko has Fury and Wilder running from him.

What's weird is that there's nobody being avoided at Cruiserweight. None of the champions want to unify. They've all been happy to sit on their titles for years avoiding the top three challengers. You never hear a peep out of them about unification, of Huck wanting to fight Drozd or Hernandez wanting to fight Lebedev. It's like there's a gentleman's agreement not to step on each other's toes and spoil a good thing (for them not for the fans).

    GGG
    Kovalev
    Rigo

I'm waiting for the day a top ranked 160 will get the will to take on GGG but it looks like none are willing

Which fighters have avoided him so far?

I have seen Errol Spence calling him out for a fight. Thurman said how Spence needs to work his way up or something.

He didn't really impress me either. he just boxed and did a great job at a catch-weight of 172lbs to see how the power felt. It was a technical & experimental outing, yet a positive one as far as Andre staying busy with good competition. So we know some great things are coming between 168 - 175lbs............. really good technical fighter man... really good !!!!

Rigo is #1. Almost a garunteed loss, but you barely get any cash for it.

Well people can be avoided if they're a good fighter but not a popular/big draw.

When Mayweather was younger and was a relative unknown, no one wanted to fight him. He was constantly cited as being a high risk and low reward type of fighter. Since he's been the largest PPV draw for the last 8 years, he's now considered a ducker or a chicken. Boxing is a very interesting sport in that regard.

So from the sense of being a high risk and low reward fighter, it has to be Rigo.

Guys like Gennady are building their brand up and are becoming more popular on a fight by fight basis. He'll end up being a big draw if he continues to dominate the way he has been, and once he becomes a true superstar of the sport, I can promise you no one will be avoiding him if they know they can get a big time payday.

Tyson was a really scary fighter back in the late 80's. But since he was the biggest draw in boxing, all the top HW's at the time wanted to fight him (although it wasn't a great time for the HW division as far as talent goes.)

Now I'd like to see a top PPV draw fighter getting avoided by other fighters in his division. That's something that just doesn't really exist in boxing aside from a few rare, isolated situations.

To me it seems GGG is the most avoided fighter for last 20 years.

    Champs and mandatories:

Lemieux: Don´t want any part of GGG. DLH saying it takes at least 18 months.

Lee: Wants to fight Quillin and Chavez Jr again. Don´t want any part of GGG.

Cotto: Can´t eaven talk GGG and keep his cool. Gives ducking a new meaning.

Jacobs: He is very quiet for a guy who hasn´t got a belt. Behaves like he doesn´t want belt, at least if he has to fight GGG.

    Quillin: Obvious duck.

Canelo: Creates a new weight class (155) to avoid 160 and revealing his true colors. He knows public would demand GGG fight and he knows it would meen pain and hurt.
