So you basically avoided the answer because you know that dempsey did not have better resume than Fury

Ok tell me against who you make sharkey favorite. From today.. I think that he is in serious danger even against a kid like dubouis.
And makes no sense fighting in a division where(like you admited) he could not be the champion,a waste of time, he should fight in a division where he would have much better chance to win for his natural size .

Maybe in the UK that are. Neither of their careers are over. I'll say this. The winner of AJ vs Fury, proved the winner can win a few more title matches without losing to weak competition will have a top 20 all time heavyweight legacy, and a better single win than Dempsey has.

This is the current Ring Magazine top ten.

    https://www.ringtv.com/ratings/?weightclass=272

I would favour him with confidence over anybody in the lower half.
    Not necessarily.

The money is much better in the heavyweight division, even if you never hold a title.

The big heavyweights that he beat in his own day were better than them.

That's not what I said. Outside of Wladimir and Wilder, Fury has no resume. Dempsey cleaned out the division before winning the title.

First of all he did not clean anything, he did not face guys like harry wills for example.
But let's to imagine for a second that you are right.
What division did Dempsey clean? An era of tomato cans, smaller good guys or big farmers? Firpo was an average guy ... Bonavena for example was much better. Willard would be a can today to be honest, a tough guy with stamina for his size but a heavy bag

That's why I didn't want to discuss about it. Fighters like Fulton or Morris were not "big farmers".

You would favour Sharkey over Povetkin, Parker, Hunter, Rivas and Pulev?

I honestly think he would be lucky to land a clean punch on any of those men.

He would be brutally, BRUTALLY beaten down by Joe Joyce, who is nowhere near the top 10.
