Are u more impressed with khans heart and chin holding up against maidana saturday night or are u more disappointed with his ring IQ and his defence and the fact he got caught with so many clean shots?

For my 2 cents i thought he wanted to test himself and get hit so he could prove the critics wrong, now he has proved he can take a shot i dont think well ever see that kind of performance from him again and will usually follow the gameplan to perfection

he won't follow a gameplan to perfection. few fighters do even at that level.

but he has earned his right as a player on the big stage.

It enhances his chin and we now know he can dig deep , ring IQ and defence can be worked on and both should come with experience.

dont question khans skill and boxing ability. he won every round against the slickest fighter at 140 mallignaggi. he won every round against kotelnik who basically drew with alexander.

Man I didn't start watching this fight till like the 6th round : (. I had this sexy ass chick at my place that night.....had to miss it. But what i saw from Khan was great. he looks really good against a top fighter and one of the best punchers in the game. Props to him. I have turned into a believer.

He was hit too easily. Boxing is about hitting and not being hit.

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee, your hands can't touch what your eyes can't see.

He chose the opponent with power, thinking he would take a few shots...not eat every single uppercut the guy threw.

Amir bit off more than he could chew, and was lucky. He did a good job in the opening rounds and pulled a couple in the middle of the fight.

Definitely impressed. Even the slickest fighters still get rocked or hit clean. He's a far cry from the Khan that got ko'd by Prescott.

it wasnt maidanas boxing that caused amir problems it was his power. this made amir weary and stopped him from fighting his usual slick way. its hard to remain composed when a guy with that much powewr is pressuring you for 12 rounds!

Well it could be argued that he didn't bite off more than he could chew, cause he won in case you didn't notice.
Luck is also something every fighter needs, maidana could count himself lucky he got dropped at the end of round one, not the middle. Everyone has luck, good and bad.

Good thread. Despite his heart and improved chin, he gave me more reasons to be concerned. Sometimes his ring IQ was poor, and his defence proved to be another major weakness to go alongside a chin - which is still a little shaky.

Kahn has too much wasted movement. After he lands a combo he should turn the corner and stick another combo. Instead he dances away. I think he drops his hands to much and WTF didnt he go back to the body?

I would have to list bradley or alexander as a slight favor.

He's just looking for trouble if he doesn't tight up that d. Luckily, he has Roach on his side feeding him those protein shakes. :D
