And she might not get involved as much these days, but she wasn't adverse to the odd ruck back in her day. She was often to be found on The Shed of a Saturday afternoon where she would encourage those around her to "stand Chelsea" and could be heard screaming "Cam on then you facking Millwall slaaags, do you want some of this" while brandishing a selected piece from her personal arsenal.

I try to get to at last one a year.

But honestly I prefer watching it on TV, I can see so much more of the action.

Definition of simple-minded : Lacking in subtlety or sophistication; artless or naive : simple-minded generalizations.

This whole thread is the above definition, and if you didn't realise that...well you must be 'soft'.

You would be correct. As the world knows, the Queen herself is known to drown her sorrows in a pint of Guiness when Chelsea loses, and nut the corgis.

I'm British, and your statement is a massive generalisation.

A lot of British boxing fans are really football fans who just support the local guy, and don't know jack **** about boxing. That frustrates me. They just wanna see a tear up and that's about it.

I'm not sure about the people on this site, I presume they are boxing fans or why else would they be here?

On the whole, I'd say the general public ANYWHERE in the world dont know jack **** about boxing. Unless you've been around boxing yourself, or studied it or take a genuine interest, you aint gonna know too much.

    Peash.

:lol: aside from the massive exageration, you must be pretty ****ing thick if you think brits are the only country to hype their fighter.

I just find it amazing that an AMERICAN could call anybody 'simple minded'. You guys are THE stupidest, most simply minded ****ers in the universe. Your so thick you write stuff like this without uderstanding the irony of the situation. Your niaveity is astounding and thats why EVERYBODY else in the world knows as FACT that you are the biggest fools that have ever lived.

    :good

I would say the above post just about sums up the UK (in response to a previous poster I also hate this term, but having lived amongst other English speakers they strangely seem bamboozled by the name England as if it is some mystical place from years gone by so UK seems easier).

Basically all sport boils down to which football (as in the game where you predominantly use your foot) team you support and the casual boxing fan supports a boxer if he is a) from near your home town or b) he supports the same team as you. Is this colloquial or tribal? Yes, and every country has its fair share of these types.
