I still don't understand how this thread turned into a Roy Jones vs Hopkins thread. That wasn't even the point of the thread, the point of the thread is addressing fanboys who want to ignore shortcomings in their hero's careers. Followed by angry Roy and Tyson fanboys coming at me like a maggot on 8 week old raw eggs.

I think what you are not stating is Holmes was in a very weak era with no one
to push him on to real greatness! His greatest effect was winning the WBC title against Norton with a torn bicep. Holmes just didn't have the opposition to make ATG status. Bernard's middleweight opponents where the same .

obviously Hopkins was more dominant past his prime, no ****en question.

But what Jones did in his prime, is better than what Hopkins did throughout his whole career. I don't see what's so hard to understand, Mostly everybody would agree with me.

Hopkins is an ATG fighter obviously and he's in the top 5 of the past 20 years for sure. Along with Pacquaio, Whitaker, Holyfield and Jones.

look at Sven Ottke he has 21 title defenses of the Super Middleweight title, does that make him one of the best ever? Title defenses don't mean **** when you're facing shitty competition.

OH so you are so desperate in your quest to downgrade Bernard Hopkins that you are now comparing his title defenses to Sven Ottke. Good one. You have officially made my list as an RJJ homer.

I'm tracking who the homers are on here and who aren't. I have some back-up coming to the website in the next day or two. I don't have the patience to go back and forth with such ignorance.

Bernard Hopkins is 45 years old and he's stepping up to the plate to fight the guy who just beat Chad Dawson for his WBC light heavyweight title, and International Boxing Organization light heavyweight title, so he's 45 ****ing years old and still fighting in legit title fights.

Roy Jones has been an afterthought in boxing for the last 6 damn years, and he's getting ready to test himself against Danny Santiago, lol.

"Roy's prime trumps anything Bernard has done"

What you meant to say, and I put that phrase in my homer translator:
"My man is the best and I don't care about anyone else."

You are describing your love for Roy, it's a disgrace when you take it to this level, I wont even stoop to your level and call you a disgrace on a personal level either....that being said I knew you would keep trolling with your Roy love when I saw that shitty CD cover as your avatar.

i don't know what you're talking about. I'm not biased towards RJJ it's only when stupid disgraceful human beings like yourself make horrible judgements about him that i have to correct you.

He's my favorite boxer ever and is an ATG and surely ranks higher than Bernard Hopkins. I'm sure most people on this site would agree.

When its all said and done they will both stay legends ..Imo Roy would still rank above him considering his career to heavy .Hopkins though a legend himself defied the odds with age ..They each are in the HOF for diffrent reasons ..The arguement will never end because what makes them great is what keeps people debating ..
