When looking back on the career of Rahman...no doubt things to be considered are...

...his being 1 of only 2 men to defeat Lewis, and eventually going 1-1 with him

    ...his World Title victories

...some other things, that I don't care about...

...but will people consider the VITKLIT cancellation issues, in some form part of his legacy...???

Will it be seen as some sort of moral victory, or a willingness to fight a tough champion that he should have lost to...???

...or possibly some other retrospectively flattering perspective, when considering the issue...???

Have there been other times where a fight did not take place, and the issue was somehow looked back on as a part of a fighters legacy...???

No, because no one really knows if Vitali was scared of Rahman. In fact, it's more probable that he was injured.

Well the answer to the last question is definately yes. Examples would be Bowe avoiding Lewis.

As to the VK issue, I personally don't think it will impact on Rahman's legacy one way or the other. Certainly his defeat of Lewis will be the highlight of his career.

I think it will somewhat enhance Rahman's legacy a little bit, never in the history of the WBC has another fighter cancelled a fight so many times and not eventually fought the person, I do think Vitali was a little concerned about Rahmans known one punch knockout power.

Or a knock against Bowe depending on who's spinning it. Many posters use it as a knock against Lewis, not an inhancement, because they claim he didn't fight the best out there, regardless of circumstances.

Good point, some use it to knock Lewis. Maybe more people use it as a Lewis negative than a Lewis plus.

My answer is no. Just because an injured fighter can't keep his contract, doesn't mean that another mediocre fighter deserves points towards his legacy.

Wow, you are obsessed with this issue. I am sure that it was just Vitali fearing for his life after that amazing display that Rahman put on against Barrett.

Actually, this was my first mention of Rahman's legacy...

Anyways, if you are not interested in talking about Rahman with the rest of us, try responding to the question at the bottom of the original post...that way you don't need to discuss Hasim and can still have a place in the thread.

Yeah... you just happened to be talking about Klitschko getting injured in training all day long, and starting other threads about that. It also just happens to be the focus of this thread as well. It isn't hard to see throuigh your nonsense.... and I was staying on topic. The topic of the day is your obsession with Vitali getting injured in training camp. Don't cry to me about staying on topic, when it was you who entered my thread dedicated to give Sam Peter respect, and IMMEDIATELY started talking about Klitschko backing out of fights, and getting injured in training. Practice what you preach.

Can you name any well known fighters outside of Lennox Lewis (who had already been knocked out by one punch before)... that Rahman has knocked out with one punch?

Let's not forget that everyone had just seen him going life and death with Monte Barrett in an AWFUL, sloppy, and weak performance. I am sure that didn't scare Vitali away. Vitali was so scared, that he went and had two surgeries? Planted a fake CT scan to show that he needed Spinal surgery, and then purposely tore his meniscus and his MCL? Yeah, I guess that makes sense. Especially since he threw all of that training down the toilet, payed all of those sparring partners, and trainers for nothing, and passed up on 9 million dollars. The fear of Rahman. Rahman had just recently finished a strech where he didn't even win a fight in almost 4 years... and he was actually fighting. Went on a little bum run, and Don King and company had him set up for a title shot.
