Are we all in agreement that Berto cherry picked 140 for years?

Look you dumb contrarian mother****er, I saw the goddamn fight, and I provided AMPLE evidence to support my claim that Berto has been milking 147 for all it's worth while going after smaller fighters. Ortiz qualifies REGARDLESS of whether or not he is a "big" jr. welter. ****, Urango is a big ass Jr. Welter, too, but I don't see you singing his praises. You're on the wrong side of the argument on this one. And, my argument about Berto picking on a "weaker guy" is substantiated by YEARS of proof. Ortiz is just more proof that Berto and his camp hadn't changed their ways at all. It's a pattern you ****wit, get with the program.

your argument it still weak, and all the name calling doesn't change that.
collazo, and quintana werent 140 pound fighters. so if you claiming thats all berto fought, why dont you mention either of those two. the guys you were talking are forbes, urango and ortiz. you do realize forbes fought above 140 serveal times before that fight right, most notably against dlh at 150. so the only two guys you have who moved up 147 to fight berto was urango and ortiz. thats what you're crying about? didnt you enjoy the otriz fight because alot of people here did.

berto was never a great champion anyway, but you know its easy to **** on the man after he loss. he was what he was a belt holder at 147, nothing more, nothing less.

Obviously you are ignoring all of the facts I put forth. He was preying on smaller fighters and was constantly trying to fight smaller fighters. Even when he took on a welterweight, it was not a welterweight who was deemed a threat to him. I'd hardly call Steve Forbes a welterweight. That's some pretzel logic if I ever heard it. Pathetic really that you'd even mention it. They get a fight with Quintana and the man was dead on the scales. He moved up to 154 and simply could not make weight safely any longer--and it showed as he looked like **** against Berto. And the Hernandez fight? Padded record to make it look like it was a better win that what it really was. But, you just keep on ahead being a Berto apologist--doesn't change the FACTS that Berto continuously went after Jr. Welters after he had won the WBC welterweight title.

and your facts are still wrong. one of those title defenses was against collazo. you think collazo was a handpicked opponent who wasnt a real threat as you claim? you hardly call forbes a welterweight, he shouldn't be there really, but you cant deny the fact that he fought there numerous times. and fought dlh at 150. you must really be mad at dlh then right? hernandez was a joke, you can have that but your original argument didn't have anything to do with that, you were talking about 140 fighters. same thing with quintana, now you're flipping the script.

berto was resume aint that great but it wasnt exactly **** either, and you woulnt be saying anything had he fought mosley as planned, of course berto said why he backed out. whether you buy it or not is up to you. you jumping on the same bandwagon that everybody else is whenever a fighter gets beat. you say whatever makes you feel good, but the claim you made makes is seem you got an agenda.

Berto's a decent fighter but its easy to look powerful and good in a weak division. Ortiz in my opinion had the better record going into the fight and I'm suprised he was such an underdog.

Glad to see Ortiz win. He's been getting a lot of unfair stick since the Maidana fight, was robbed against Peterson. Moving up in weight and taking on the beltholder is deserving of respect.

Berto did not cherry pick. What was done with Berto is called bringing a prospect along carefully; happens with just about everyone who has promise. Also, better fighters weren't exactly eager to face him.

Berto had a good team, they didn't put him in there against someone who could realistically pose a threat, or didn't match up style wise. I would take his management team over Kelly Pavliks. Its only one loss, and he can still redeem himself in a re-match. Ortiz won decisvely, but hedidn't exactly whoop his ass from pillar to post.
