The weight doesn't matter, since both guys weigh about the same on their fight nights anyway.

    Agreed, not competitive over 135lbs.
I don't blame him for going down that low or upto 154 to fight Martinez.

At WW there's not much about!

Of coruse, the only reason people want to see pac vs marquez is cuz of their 2 close fights. Jmm did look good winning his fights vs diaz and katsidis but let's not forget he was fighting lightweights. Pac would destroy him at 147 then haters will come out with the his too old-too small-past prime excuse.

If you exclude weight JMM competition has been currently better than Pac's. and understand I said current. Because Pac's resume has the name recognition but those fighter were difinitely not in their prime. I do agree that I don't think JMM can beat pac now but those saying the fight wouldn't be competitive are delusional. Cuz even if JMM were to be stop he is such a warrior and has a style that troubles Pac. he wouldn't just sit there and be a punching bag for Pac like Clottey and Marg and more than likely Mosely. From a true boxing fan's point of view the JMM vs Pac makes the most sense. But from Pac and his team and *******'s point of view the Mosley fight makes most sense. One last thing this is the second cheater in a row that Pac has rewarded with a large payday and that is not very humble. True humility comes from forgiving not rewarding these cheaters.

Like the way Margarito "proved himself" at 154? Like the way that Mosley "proved himself" at 147 and 154?

It is hard being a Pac fan these days.

Maybe not, but he deserved the shot and it would have been a lot more interesting than the Mosley fight.

We should all be finding out the real answer to this question in May but instead we get to see a guy who hasn't won a fight in 2 and a half years against the best in the sport. Boxing, such a wonderful sport.

No. He punches hard. But, not like a JMW. He seems to have carried his speed and power up. But, it appears JMM carried his recuperative powers up as well. Floyd caught him flush on the chin, with a lunging uppercut, with his bodyweight behind the shot. Marquez took a seat and got back up, same as he did many times throughout his career.

Pacquiao will not Hattonize Marquez. Marquez is too smart. Manny will have to work to get him out. And in the process, Marquez will be doing what skilled counterpunchers do...making him pay. Win or lose, there's great potential for him to expose flaws in Manny, in such a manner, that eyebrows will raise. Roach said in an interview after the ODLH fight, that even up at 140 or so, Marquez would be a tough fight, and that 20 out of 20 times, that would be the case, because, Marquez is so smart, and styles make fights.

These other fighters are caught off guard by Manny...Marquez knows what to expect.
