Im white collar. I work in sales though so sometimes when I have a sales trip I havet to get the mrs to put make up on my black eyes lol. Put it to you this way - a lot of people don't want to buy from you if they meet you for the first time and they get the wrong impression. I plan to white collar until my 50's as long a there are people my own age and weight to do it. Prefer boxingto watching boxing but I still love watching boxing too. Prefr the amateur game but still watch the pro fights on tv. One thing though - In Ireland some of the am fights re very exciting and very competitive because the standard has improved a lot. Also - can honestly say I've seen some white collar fights that literally had the crowd up on there feet and as just as entertaining as any other fight Ive seen. Love all sports too and don' have chip on myshoulder about football or rugby lads. The way I see it we need to encourage the footy/rugby fans to adopt boxing as their 2nd sport andthe more we get in to boxing even as casua fans - the sooner it will become a main stream sport again.

I hit the heavy bag probably 4 times a week. Used to hit the mitts when I had a friend that liked to train with me.

I do a lot of body-shot-only sparring. We generally will spar for an hour with a one or two minute break every five minutes. 12 oz gloves. Me and my chief "sparring partner" have never KD'd each other. Iron bodies for sure!

I have no aspirations of taking myself to a gym to fight, but do intend to lace up in "backyard" style matches with people I know who do box. I'm curious to see if my whiskers can withstand a big shot.

    :rofl

You clinch me, then i'll have to turn Nard on you Slip . So frustrating watching fights allow themselves to get tied up so easily.

You got my style spot on though , Although since doing a bit of training here and there i'm adding some thoughtful work rather to my skillset. Feints, bit more footwork that doesn't include going forward. Finally learned to reverse . Learned so much using this site and talking to guys like yourself.

I can imagine our spars being class though as you say.

Wish i had internet when i was boxing, youtube, forums etc. Would of really pushed my skills on.

I did MMA for a bit (no fights) and my left ear went a bit cauliflower. Boxed twice, I'm 20, I'm entering the less than 10 bout aba's next year. In the north east there is also a north east amature belt you can win. I want to win that, and if possible defend it 3 times so I can keep a copy. I train a lot at the moment, it's my life really as everything else has gone to **** and I need to move away, which I will at the end of next season.

I wouldn't say my opinion is a level above anyone else's on the forum lol, I only had 6 amateur fights and had a 50/50 record.

I once had a little mess around sparring session with this guy: http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=3970&cat=boxer and even though he doesn't look much, I could hardly land a glove on him, he knew every trick in the book. Amateur Boxing is hard so Pro Boxing must be unbearable sometimes.

These are 3 of the lads I used to spar with who are now pro:

    http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=575903&cat=boxer

    http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=478330&cat=boxer

    http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_id=579056&cat=boxer

I'll be honest aswell those 3 weren't even the best fighters in the gym either, a couple of lads were better and I don't even think the 2 lads box anymore.

I genuinely didnt get any nerves before my first fight. i was cool and calm, quite excited if anything. my coach was panicing cos i was so cool and calm. i could tell he was worried there was something wrong woth me. then another lad from my gym got koed in 1st round. only us two fighting that night. after that i was cool as a cucumber. in my mind i couldnt do any worse haha. and won by 2nd round tko.

2nd fight, again cool as ****. got an absolute battering and got koed in 3rd! i didnt know what day of week was after that.

needless to say 3rd and 4th fight were a lot harder beforehand and it was much more of an effort to stay calm and collected.
