..at age 15 he was ranked on top ten on both WBC and WBA the only two sanctioning bodies when he turn professional...World Champion , Lineal Champ at age of 17...growing up in the gym...learning from his older borthers and talented father and trainer Gregory Benitez Sr...perhaps didn;t stress the importance of training to his prodigy son....that perhaps could have been the best ever....

With no substatial amateur career he catapulted into the scene....winning 28 straight and defeated the feared Kid Pambele.....schooling him..El Radar was one in a million...

Please...Wilfred had more natural talent as a pure boxer understanding the sweet science..than both...the fact that both were great boxers doesn't make them "naturals"...

Actully Orisha, I considered my post to be the perfect post, because I was both trolling (I knew you would hate my response), and I was actually telling the truth.

I honestly believe that both Floyd and RJJ have the same talent level. So shoot me I guess.

Guys you are getting confused by accomplishments and not natural talent as master of the science..RJJ was ot a master of the sweet science he relied on his great phisical attributes to overwhelm his opponents..that does not make him a master boxer...and I am not saying he was not great..but as a master of the science he was not..the same with PBF..to a lesser extent than RJJ

Funny, I would have defined talent as such.

I agree with you orish. To many people consider natural talent in boxing and athleticism the same thing. Athletic ability is just one part of the attributes that make up a natural boxing talent.

I honestly feel one of the most naturally gifted boxers ever was Roberto Duran. When he laced them up at lightweight the combination of his athletic ability, his strength, his fighting tenacity, his ability to absorb punishment, his eye for scoring and avoiding punchers, his natural aptitude to pick up the science of boxing, his heart and his boxing brain made for one hell of a fighter. But many dont think of him has one of the most naturally talented boxers ever, many reserve that for the quick and aesthetically pleasing fighters like PBF, Too sharp, Sugar Ray Leonard etc.

Heaps of people still think Roy Jones is the most talented fighter ever. One of, yes but I think Micheal Spinks had more talent, in the boxing sense, than Roy.

When I voice these opinions not many agree, which is fair enough, but thats how I see it.

That's not natural talent then. That's a mental aspect.

Benitez did not improve enough from age 17. He got better, but not as much as most do from 17--to mid 20's. If he had kept improving at an average rate, he would have been great. He also lacked punching power. His biggtset problem was drugs, he was big time coke fiend. Not puttin ghim down for it, just pointing out that if he stayed clean he would have had better career.
