Ricky mentioned that he has never been so confident and that he feels like he is reborn. According to him his skills and boxing IQ has been upgraded because of Floyd Sr. He feels that no one can beat him @ 140 and that this division is his domain... he feels much stronger and faster than ever.

So are we expecting the best ricky hatton ever? better than the one who fought Tzyu or Mayweather? :think

We can only guess . . . but I hope so . . . I don't want to hear excuses from both sides after the fight . . . may the best man win!

    . . . so I'm not voting.

I'm expecting a slighlty different version of Hatton, but not necessarily a better one. Bascialy I expect his style to be a bit of a hybrid between Floyd Sr.'s defensive skills and Hatton's usual grab and punch style.

Yes he has a better trainer now than in the past . . . but that's just part of the equation. There are so many unseen factors that only the insiders knew . . . and we will see that on fight night.

if hatton demonstartes adeptness at slipping some punches he will be able to counter effectively against pacquiao, back him up and eventually knock him out....about 7th.

So far from what i've seen from hatton's camp he looks pretty good... IMO he's much faster and definitely much stronger now. His weight reduction is right on time and even said that he is ahead of schedule.

    Nope.

Hatton from the Tszyu fight would have been more effective than the one we will see on saturday. He was certainly a much better fighter than the one that fought Malignaggi. Cool avatar Enzo.

I don't know. I have a suspicion that Hatton may be different for awhile until he gets hit! lol The best I don't know. Different, probably a little.

I don't think it matters though. I don't think any version of Hatton beats this version of Pacquiao. He's simply much better than he used to be. I think Pacquiao will put his full, new and improved arsenal on display again. If Hatton boxes or wrestles, imo, he still gets beat!

I'd like to add another option:

The best Ricky that we have seen since The Tzu fight. Due to stubble changes in his technique and an improved training regeme.

Due to age and binge eating I don't see him being the brick **** house that walked through Kostya Tzu. If that guy showed up Manny wouldn't make a dent in him and he'd be pretty ****ed. But that Ricky was the Ricky that was watching tape of his opponents even moments before he entered the ring he was so focused. And he hadn't yet been sapped by his between fights ballooning or his hard fights at Welter wieght.

So I expect him to be more volunerable and have less stamina then he used to but I also expect him to be technically the best he's ever been. In the end you can't make up for what youth used to give you so he won't be as the dangerous package he used to be but he should be more affective then he was agianst Floyd and in following fights.

Maybe not so much as backfire as much as Hatton will not translate it in the ring for long.
