yes, the best version of hatton, but if he loses he suddenly becomes shot, weight-drained, old, close to retirement, etc., like all fighters manny beat

Well put. To add to this I go back to the old adage-"you can't teach an old dog new tricks."

Hatton may have indeed picked up some useful knowledge and techniques from Floyd Sr., techniques that Floyd can sharpen and hone while in the ring with Ricky Hatton. But the stark reality is that when it's Ricky & Manny in the ring and the pressure's on-Hatton will forget everything he's learned and do whatever comes natural, reverting to the style he's used for 40 pro bouts.

Best Hatton ever, which however's not enough to derail the rampaging Pac.

(I dunno but images of Pac-Diaz comes to mind ever since this match came up. Pac TKO Hatt in 7 or 8...)

Honestly, Hatton didn't move his head much against Paulie. He didn't let his hands go in combinations. He ignored his jab for most of the fight and he didn't work as effectively as he could off of Malignaggi's weak clinching. He did what generally works for him of late, lunging in with big shots (the hook) and smothering his opponent (although Malignaggi was the one who actually commenced all the clinches).

By the second round of the Malignaggi fight Hatton had stopped his elusive little bob and weave and resorted back to moving in in dead straight lines with an open guard and not using the jab as much as he should. I expect to see a slight improvement from the Malignaggi fight this weekend, as he obviously hasn't been with Floyd for long so he will probably improve slightly with time.

I don't however think he will be anywhere near as effective (even if he wins) as the relentless fighter that stopped Tzsyu.

I couldn't agree more. I'm also expecting something different from the hitman. Whether its gonna pay off, i don't know.

I suspect we might very well see the best version of Hatton. He works very hard in the gym, if Mayweather is a good trainer, he could win this fight.

Manny will make him look like an amateur! He's far too quick for Hatton and throws more punches in a fight than Mayweather. Therefore, Hatton will go down earlier!

I dunno which version of Hatton will show up, but I know that all this talk about him having a new trainer, and being new and improved or whatever is just hype. He didn't look any better in the Malignagi fight than he has in any of his fights in recent years.

if pacquiao wins it'll be because rickys shot or something..... no way does little SFW pacman beat a prime 140 ricky hatton......

pac wont be able to keep him under controll, he'll destory pacmans style.. pac aint that versatile.. hes got one style... and hatton will adapt to it and destroy it.... hatton is actually an unconventional fighter, he can adapt.. pacquiao fights the same every time...

Do you really think we are going to see the best version of Hatton ever, despite him showing minimal improvements against the lacklustre Malignaggi, and clearly being a lesser fighter than the relentless one of years gone by.

Saying he is going to be the best version ever is no more reasonable than suggesting he is past prime.

I'm expecting him to best at his best coz he is fighting the best...

the guy picks hatton to dominate pac but comfortably says that if he loses it's because he is shot.
