Do we fans get enough boxing in a year? I feel sometimes as if I'm waiting for the next fight to happen. I get anxious and I want to see it happen now.

I am very frustrated at how long it takes for good fights to happen.

No, not nearly enough... and those who think elite fighters fighting once or twice a year is actually a good thing can drop dead.

Sadly, the experience of being a boxing fan is 60% speculation, 39% argument, and 1% viewing of fights.

not lately. last night was the worst saturday i've had in years. my girlfriend went to visit her mother, and i was home alone. all i could think about was how great it would be if there was a fight. i know there was an mma event(men on men action) on but it's not the same. it's not even close.

One of the reasons I ordred the Pavlik PPV, in addition to being a big Pavlik fan, is that I didn't want to go a month without boxing...

nope....we got most fighters fighting 1 time a year and when they do its a **** fight....
    its been over
    for example
steve cunningham fought 1 time in 2008 and 1 time in 2009
Guillermo Jones has fought 4 times since 2005 and hasnt fought in 15 months since winning the WBA cruiserweight title and sitting on it
Wlad fought 1 time in 2009
    Hopkins 1 fight in 2009
Pavlik 4 fights in 2 years- locket, espinosa, rubio , hopkins- 1 out of 4 aint bad
David Haye- 3 fights in 2 years
    Valeuv- 1 fight in 2009
Holyfield - (for what its worth) zero fights in 2009
Chagaev- 4 fights in 3 years. he turned pro in 1997 and has 26 fights
Sergey Lyakhovich- 4 fights in 5 years
Shannon Briggs- 5 fights in 4 years
Sultan Ibragimov- fought 1 time in 2008 and 1 time in 2009
Floyd Mayweather- 5 fights in 4 years
Zab Judah- 1 fight in 2009 - opponent has 19 losses and was a ppv
Ricky Hatton fought 7 fights in 4 years...
Sugar Shane- 4 fights in 3 years
Ricardo Mayorga- 6 fights in 6 years
Fernando Vargas had a total of 13 fights the entire decade
Lucian Bute fought 2 times in 08 and 09
Kessler has had 9 fights in 5 years

so yeah....this stuff hurts boxing.....for whatever reason or excuses people will come up with, there is a bottom line and these are the facts....

Boxers averaging 1 to 2 fights per year can't reach a 100 fights at this rate. Who was the last boxer to reach a 100 fights? Chavez, Duran?

I want to see more fights from each individual boxer. Waiting several months to a year sounds like semi-retirement.

Boxing can one day be surpass by MMA, because MMA fighters are more active.

These first few months are rough.

We've got Mosley-Berto, and then flash forward to early spring and the Super Six stage 2 bouts start up, and Vazquez-Marquez IV. In between...tumbleweeds. And whatever big name or names end up meeting in March at this point, it's going to be a pretty anticlimactic and unsatisfying event.

don't forget the possibility of fights being delayed of injuries or other problems.
