It is a terrible time if it was not for Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather having a chance to put on a big fight. Western European Boxing is decaying and the Klitschkos are just freaks of nature who do not excite anyone. Hopkins is old school and and an all time great like Hoya, Tito were and Pacquiao and Floyd will be but there all time greats who are just slowly dragging themselves for small doe and that's really sad like Holyfield, RJJ, James Toney, Antonio Tarver... After the Larry Holmes reign, the Michael Spinks reign at LHWT, the Leonard-Hagler-Herans-Duran, the great Tyson season, the Buster Douglas upset and the rise and rise of Holyfield, Bowe, Lewis and of the mexican trio of the lower weight classes Morales, Barrera and JMM, after the Vasquez-Marquez four fights, after the Castillo-Corrales thriller and the Ward-Gatti trilogy, after the controversial era of JCC domination, his fights with Whitaker and M. Taylor, man, there is nothing out there, nothing...

It's pretty shitty. The heavier divisions are **** weak with talent and the lighter divisions are either full of Glass Jawed Jokes, untested Hype Jobs, or good fighters who won't make the good fights happen. I ****ing wish Boxing would go to the UFC model of a league rather than a bunch of promoters because I don't give a **** how much it would hurt their bank accounts, it would force the big fights to happen and make it easier for casual fans to follow. Boxing isn't growing a fanbase because anybody who doesn't read Boxing magazines or come to the Internet for sites like this can't possibly keep up with the convoluted title pictures.

True...boxing is now at its worst. We have Asian midget scarying the **** out of the so called best fighter of the world. I doubt that Leonard or Duran would be afraid for their health fighting an Asian midget.

The Klitschko's make it look like we have a lack of talent in the HW division the way Louis did during the "Bum Of The Month Club Era"
What we do have his little whiny cry baby "fans" like you that rip our sport down. Go to the fckin UFC we hold the door open for ya :yep

    ******ed thread

The Klitschko Brothers are the two greatest heavyweights of all time. They would dominate any era.

boxing's doing fine. heavy's a mess but it's been worse. if you read up on boxing history you'd know that there's lulls about every 10-15 years.... it goes from good to great to poor and back again. and there's been peope claiming it's dead or dying since the 20's. even during the best eras you never heard anyone claiming they were the best eras.... like in the 80's which was great people bitched about how the 70's was better and boxing is dying. this era will be looked at as much better 10 years from now.

Very true, it's the same with Music, Films, and other things... "oh if 2Pac and biggie....", "oh if Ali and Marciano.....":patsch, man if Pac was alive he would be singing songs with T-Pain, and Biggie spitting verses with Drake.... Mainstream Hip-Hop and Heavyweight Boxing may be in a time low, but in the underground and the divisions below 175, it is great!
