Could be the very best fight of the year. I think it will be one of the candidate to win it along with Pacquiao vs. Marquez. What do you guys have to say?

the fight is sold-out?! Does anyone know. Usually fights don't get sold out until the night before. I'll be watching it in cable tv. Anyone watching the fight live?

No I don't see Hopkins ever being in a FOTY. He's too measured.

I actually think we have a stinker on our hands.

Weve had a good year though, Marquez-Pac,Marquez-Vasquez, Casa-Kat, Cintron-Margo all great fights.

Calzaghe UD, but it wont be a thriller, Hopkins' style wont allow it.

It will be my personal fight of the year. Watching Joe put a systematic beat down on his old ass, it doesn't get much better.

I think it is more of a symbolic fight.
The longest reigning middleweight vs the longest reigning Super middleweight.
We never know who it will end up but i think it will be a technical fight.

It's not going to be a fight that's pleasing on the eye that's for sure.

As a Calzaghe fan, this fight worries me. I rewatched some Calzaghe career highlights on Setanta tonight and there are many c-h-i-n-k-s in the armour that you forget about as time passes. Joe is hittable (by a fast, accurate puncher) and is definately beatable against a smart operator with good power, great fitness and stamina and someone who can keep as cool as ice under pressure. The thing that gives me most hope here is that Hopkins will have to fight and fight and fight for the whole night. I'm not sure if he can do that.

I've definately shifted from a fairly routine Calzaghe win to something that is going to be more complicated. I definately think Joe will be able to punch better (harder) at 175 though. Certainly with more authority and conviction than he has for the last few years at 168. For that reason and his insane levels of fitness, stamina and workrate, I cannot rule out a Calzaghe stoppage.

    With Bhops?

I'm sorry brother . . . Bhops will move and avoid exchanges and try to win in an ugly fashion . . . believe me this one's gonna be boring.

if ever a fight had the look of a stinker then this is it. This is Borenard Hopkins we're talkig about.....they're strugling to sell tickets for this one and Hopkins didn;t sell **** all for his recent fights.
they're the most overpriced tickets i've ever seen.

I'm feeling kind of the same way, except I'm a Hopkins fan. Initially and still I'm nervous for Hopkins but I've rewatch both of their recent fights and while watching the Calzaghe-Bika fight I couldn't help but think that if Hopkins was in his shoes that night he would have won. Bika landed some wild straight rights, getting the better of Calzaghe in the inside, and these of course areas that Hopkins excels in. I think Bika pulled out 2-3 rounds as well.

I expect to Joe to fight a smart fight, perhaps being a little more cautious since he knows what he is up against.

Oh yea, and there's no way this is the FOTY. It will be for me, though.
