If Marquez had not faced Pacman before and was scheduled to fight him now (after hoya and hatton's asassination) would we give him a chance in hell?

All i know is that after what happened at the weigh in it will only make a Marquez victory much sweeter. (dont bet on it though)

your absolutely right. Just a thought that occured to me. If Marquez came out of nowhere and challenged pac, most would give him no chance.

Not really, I just think Floyd is that good. We'll find out tonight.

He's been doing everything he should. Train hard, praise his opponent and come in fight night under the radar...

    ^This.
JMM is not gonna fold for PBF, Mayweather will need to take it.

If Marquez were to actually win it would be one of the greatest performances of the last 10/15 years due to a mixture of the quality of PBF and the disadvantages that Marquez is up against in this fight.

So no, we're not underestimating Marquez

He is being underestimated. Everyone makes it seem as if he's going to get blown out of the water. I don't think JMM gets KO'ed. What worries me is that, the only chance JMM has is to win convincingly. If it's a close fight, Floyd's going to get it.

Marquez doesnt hold any advantages. If he boxes he loses if he brawls he gets cut to shreds.

Nah, even the least thoughtful people may have this one right. Aside from the disadvantages, Marquez is not in his prime. He's well past it. He wasn't getting roughed up by Diaz and a completely busted Casamayor as much as he was for no reason. Marquez might have another clean snappy performance left in him, but I wouldn't favor that possibility.

I hope it's not true. We've all been wrong before. A lot of people, even the most thoughtful posters had thought DLH - Pac was a joke and that DLH would size his way to a crushing victory. We all saw what happened.
